Job Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor at Baumer Foods is responsible for managing daily operations within the warehouse, ensuring efficient processes, safe handling of goods, and accurate inventory management. The role involves overseeing a team of warehouse employees, maintaining high productivity and safety standards, and working closely with the Warehouse Manager to meet company goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise Daily Warehouse Operations: Coordinate receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping activities to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and timely.
  • Team Management: Lead, train, and evaluate warehouse staff, setting performance goals, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Inventory Control: Oversee inventory levels, conduct periodic counts, and assist in investigating discrepancies to maintain accuracy.
  • Safety and Compliance: Enforce company and OSHA safety policies, ensuring a clean and organized work environment.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the use and maintenance of warehouse equipment, arranging repairs or replacements as necessary.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain records of warehouse activities, including receiving and dispatch logs, inventory, and employee attendance.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in warehouse operations with at least 1 year in a supervisory role, preferably in the food industry.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required
  • Skills:
    • MUST be able to operate warehouse equipment safely (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
    • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
    • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in varying warehouse conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.

Working Conditions

This position requires work in a warehouse environment, including temperature fluctuations, standing, and the physical demands of moving goods. Flexibility to work occasional overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
