Job Description - Project Manager BWH Rheumatology (3311558) This project manager will work closely with the PI overseeing multiple projects, including a NIH-sponsored patient-recruitment study, the BWH VERITY Bioinformatics Core, and other research studies. The project manager will be responsible for project administration, planning and implementing study protocols, overseeing several staff members, and participating in other study aspects. The project manager will work independently. The project manager will also coordinate and carry out study-related activities such as designing data collection instruments, programming study databases, organizing and maintaining meetings/agendas, assisting with hiring and training new staff, and managing several internal review board protocols. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as the project manager for a clinical research and applied bioinformatics lab, working closely with the PI, clinical research coordinators, junior faculty members, trainees, post docs, and collaborators. Supervise various staff with recruitment, study visits, and participant communications. Provide insight on project development and strategy. Oversee, orient, train, and coach staff, including research assistants and students. Serve as the primary point of contact for questions regarding research studies and IRB protocols. Contribute to writing progress reports, regulatory reports, and preparation of graphics. Contribute to manuscript writing and independently research literature. Develop data tracking systems and maintain records on research subjects. Contact and collect data on subjects, evaluating eligibility and suitability of potential participants. Conduct surveys and participate in focus group discussions with patients. Communicate regularly with the PIs and research team about all aspects of the research projects. Perform all other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred. At least 5 years of relevant experience is required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Supervisory experience required. Experience working with Excel, Access, and SAS. Experience working with Epic. Experience with R programming is preferred. SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with persons with chronic disease. Excellent communication skills. Integrity to maintain confidentiality and accuracy in recording data. Ability to prioritize and organize work responsibilities to meet deadlines.
