As primary investment area within Goldman Sachs, we provide investment and advisory services for pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, financial advisors and individuals.

XIG Platform Management team broadly is responsible for portfolio implementation and trading, liquidity management, executing equity and currency hedging programs, portfolio construction and monitoring, external manager on-boarding, product development and launch, private market deal closings, overseeing the business control framework as well as a number of important strategic initiatives. The team works in concert with the investment and teams within XIG, and with functional teams across the AWM division including Central Trading, Fund Accounting, Operations, Technology, Legal, and Compliance. Within Platform Management, specific teams focus on discrete fund management activities such as external manager onboarding.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead elements of the hedge fund Manager Onboarding function which is responsible for launching hedge fund products and solutions, effecting the hedge fund investment into a portfolio and maintaining constructive relationships with external hedge fund managers and stakeholders. In-depth partnership with senior members of XIG investment and client teams, alternative capital markets sales teams, internal platform operations teams and external investment managers to evaluate, design, and implement access to deal opportunities with focus on profitability, efficiency, and scale Engagement with external hedge fund COOs, CFOs, and GCs requiring a deep understanding of the manager strategies, operations and market dynamics as well as XIG and Goldman Sachs Asset Management capabilities, needs and contractual obligations Project management and oversight of external hedge fund onboarding activities for XIG products and platforms Contractual negotiations with external investment managers, including negotiation of investment advisor agreements, distribution agreements, and side letters, as required Participation in XIG client onboarding activities focusing on Manager Onboarding aspects for new and existing client engagements Active engagement with external investment managers on regulation impacting XIG platforms and products. Successful engagement requires a strong understanding of the asset management regulatory landscape and impact to investment strategies. Direct management and supervisory responsibilities including daily supervision of junior team members, providing ongoing informal and formal performance reviews and feedback, running formal training and career development programs, and providing recommendations on team structure and time allocations, hiring, and career development decisions Active involvement in XIG-wide projects, strategic initiatives, and ongoing platform innovation BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of relevant industry experience; preferably in asset management, alternative investments, or prime brokerage Solid understanding of alternative investment structures, strategies, and instruments Enthusiastic, self-starter with demonstrated orientation toward managing sensitive and business critical initiatives and negotiations Strong management, communication, analytical, presentation and interpersonal skills Proven project planning, organization, and time management skills. The candidate should able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced team-oriented environment Strong organizational skills to oversee production of a high volume of quality work within tight timeframes. High level of proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Experience in technology projects is a plus. Detail-oriented.
