We are currently hiring for a Warehouse Receiver. This position plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of our warehouse facility. You will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, and recording incoming shipments of goods, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in inventory management. This would also include unloading containers of products that are stacked from floor to ceiling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments of goods, verifying the accuracy of contents against shipping documents such as purchase orders, invoices, or shipping manifests.
- Inspect received goods for damages, discrepancies, or defects.
- Document any issues and communicate them promptly to the appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Update inventory records and systems with received quantities, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data.
- Organize received items in designated storage areas for easy access and retrieval.
- Ensure that received goods meet quality standards and specifications.
- Report any quality issues or concerns to the relevant departments for further investigation or action
- Maintain effective communication with warehouse supervisors, purchasing staff, and other team members to coordinate receiving activities and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries during receiving activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to receiving operations.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks safely and efficiently to move received goods to designated storage areas.
- Keep the receiving area clean, organized, and free of clutter to facilitate efficient workflow and maintain a safe working environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects, especially when unloading containers.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment safely.
- Ability to accurately interpret shipping documents and product specifications.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures for warehouse operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, preferably in a receiving role.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
*Specific duties and requirements may vary based on the employer and the production workload. Candidates must be willing to work in other departments in the warehouse as needed. Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm
