Job Description
The Hematology and BMT/Cellular Therapy Program operates within a continuum of levels of acute and chronic care services. These are tightly coordinated with the patients’ primary care and specialty care physicians in the community. Adult Hematology services in a 32 bed unit located on the 4th Floor (west end) of the South Tower of the Medical Center (4SW). This includes 32 beds with 12 positive pressure rooms that are designated for the treatment of autologous and allogeneic stem cells, bone marrow transplant, and umbilical cord blood transplant patients. We use a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care throughout the continuum of the Hematology/Oncology/BMT Program services: Staff on 4SW provides procedures including chemotherapy/high-dose chemotherapy administration and monitoring, pain management and patient controlled analgesia, metabolic support, stem cell, bone marrow, and umbilical cord blood infusions. The Associate Director, Clinical Operations of Hematology and Cellular Therapy entails organizing, directing and oversight of daily operations for the clinical and academic operations for the HCT program at Cedars-Sinai Cancer. This includes: Pre-treatment clinical operations for patients being treated with Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplants and/or manufactured cellular therapy. CIBMTR reporting of both Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant and CAR-T patient/treatment data elements and oversight of data quality and accreditation requirements. FACT accreditation. Onboarding new cell therapy products (partners include legal, pharmacy, transfusion medicine (pheresis/cell lab), inpatient, ICU, Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Center, OR). Financial workflows and management of cell therapy budgets and invoicing (340B versus WAC). Serving as the administrative liaison with Cedars-Sinai Cancer, Department of Medicine, and Academic Human Resources for faculty administrative management. Oversee the Division of Hematology and Cell Therapy Nurse Practitioner program. Provide guidance to the Transplant Coordinators. Managed care contracts and annual ASTCT RFI submissions directly impacting our “in-network” status for insurance plans. Planning, growth, and quality improvement for the HCT program.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED required Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, Science in Nursing and/or related field preferred Experience: 5 years of experience in a healthcare setting, such as medical, surgical, stroke, radiation and/or related department/unit required 4 years of experience managing academic clinical departments, service lines and/or related required 3 years of supervisory/management experience and overseeing departments/service lines in a healthcare setting required
