Parent Life reaches expectant and parenting teens and their children through intentional relationships with trained adults and community partnerships. Through a holistic approach, Parent Life seeks to empower teens to make good choices, further their education, and move toward independent living, positive parenting, and a relationship with Jesus Christ. The role of the Parent Life director is be a minister of the Gospel and engage volunteers in authentic Christ-sharing relationship with teen parents. Under the direction of the Ministry Supervisor, the Parent Life director is responsible for the building, growth, and development of volunteers for the Parent Life program in Alexandria, MN. The Parent Life Director is a professional position that requires spiritual and organizational leadership skills, the ability to work with and through other people, and strong communication skills. Must embrace and build a team that embodies YFC’s Cultural Attributes: Christ-centered, enduring humility, relentless trust, courageous faithfulness, joyful camaraderie, and kingdom inspired diversity. Must seek to implement relational ministry actions to develop Authentic Christ-Sharing Relationships with young people within the context of their YFC ministry model. Essential Job Functions and Duties:

Ministry Program Development (40%) Develop and Lead regular group meetings for pregnant and parenting teens. Seek out opportunities to assist teen parents outside regular group time – i.e. transportation, diapers, clothing, child care, etc. Pursue 1:1 relationship building times with parents. Foster new community partners to increase Youth for Christ reach and nurture these relationships. Be responsible for monthly and quarterly reports. Attend and assist with required staff meetings/retreats/trainings and community events. Volunteer Recruitment and Development (40%) Recruit, train, and maintain volunteer team in accordance with the processes found in the Knowledge Base of Find. Keep. Win. Create a strong connection between local churches and the ministry site. Develop and conduct church presentations. Collaborate with other area ministries to identify partners and volunteers. Establish necessary support and guidelines to ensure healthy and growing ministry. Develop and maintain an ever-increasing prayer team for PL, and communicate updates monthly. Community Development and Fundraising (20%) Pursue and conduct meetings with potential ministry partners. Write and distribute a quarterly newsletter to personal and ministry supporters providing student stories, ministry impact, and information about what Parent Life is and how constituents can be involved. Speak at area churches, service groups, and other relationships to communicate the mission of YFC. Spiritual Responsibilities

Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth for Christ USA is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families, and in that regard to make, educate and encourage life-long disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is very important that you as an employee in the movement of Youth for Christ be recognized as an associate minister of the Gospel. As an employee of Youth for Christ and an associate minister of the Gospel, YFC expects all employees to: Seek God’s guidance and wisdom, through prayer and meditation, for the organization as a whole as well as for specific ministry initiatives. Participate and lead regular times of prayer, devotion and worship as a regular aspect of your role within YFC. Teach and preach from the Holy Bible at YFC staff meetings, conferences, camps and events. Model empathy, humility and care for all people. This includes promoting equity and inclusion in word and in the practice of faith expression. Position Requirements

Perseverance through opposition and obstacles. Ability to mentor, teach, and lead young teen parents.
