Job Description
The Warehouse Solutions Director is responsible for selling, designing, and executing intralogistics solutions, including warehouse design, racking, automated storage & retrieval systems, conveyor, automated and semi-automated equipment, telematics, etc. They will collaborate with sales reps and leaders (intralogistics, customer support, and equipment) on customer applications and sales, and will coordinate and develop an implementation program with the Operations team.
The Warehouse Solutions Director will lead solutions efforts, R&D, and personnel, including CAD designers and Subject Matter Experts. This is an intrapreneurial role that involves business development, project management, CAD design expertise, and will require some regional travel. Given this person’s skillset, some project management of other company projects and initiatives may be required at times. The Warehouse Solutions Director reports to the President.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Sell warehouse solutions to Bailey’s customers, including racking, conveyor, AGVs/automation, automated storage and retrieval systems, material handling robotics, narrow / very narrow aisle equipment, and other intralogistics solutions and warehouse equipment.
- Develop new warehouse solutions business and customers in conjunction with the sales team.
- Support Business Development in determining the quality of potential opportunities, gathering of pertinent client data and information, external requirements and overall market (competitive) information that will increase the likelihood of success.
- Support the Sales team in hitting Class I, II, and III market share targets.
- Ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of CAD designs and solutions concepts.
- Successfully implement systems and solutions sold to customers through effective, boots-on-the-ground project management. Present and sell solution designs to clients to secure a commitment and LOI.
- Create Solutions that will encompass design of optimal facility layouts, analysis of alternative designs, operations designs, product flow design, material handling systems design, and warehouse management systems designs.
- Collaborate with other stakeholders on strategy, including solution prioritization, partner strategy, and operational plan.
- Manage and develop partnerships with solutions providers, including material handling robotics, ASRS, etc.
- Execute and refine the go-to-market and implementation motion for the Bailey Intralogistics practice.
- Train sales team informally and formally on how to recognize opportunities, conduct due diligence and talk to customer about solutions.
- Manage assigned engineering and sales staff.
- Work with Marketing to build awareness and generate leads for warehouse solutions; assist with pricing and promotion of warehouse solutions.
- Handle additional tasks and responsibilities, as assigned by company leaders.

Education/Training/Experience:
- College Degree (required), with degree in engineering preferred
- MBA or other related advanced degree (preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in industrial engineering, technical sales, material handling robotics, automated storage & retrieval systems, automation / engineered solutions sales, or management consulting in an operations setting
- 5+ years of experience in management
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Prior training and ability to use Auto-CAD to produce highly technical, exact warehouse designs
- Knowledge of the warehousing, automation / robotics, and engineered solutions space
- Great communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proven project management skills
- Strong PowerPoint and Excel capabilities
- Outstanding research and analytical abilities
