DESCRIPTION OF EMPLOYER:  Founded in 1901, Feeser’s, Inc. is a family owned and operated full-line foodservice distributor located in Harrisburg, PA servicing the Mid-Atlantic region.  Feeser’s provides an expansive offering of dry, refrigerated, and frozen products to a diverse customer base comprised of restaurants, healthcare facilities, educational facilities, and other institutions. 

SUMMARY: The Warehouse Operations Lead has general responsibility to participate in coordinating and supervising all warehouse activities daily. Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, this position is responsible for overseeing the receiving, warehousing, and shipping of products in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives.  

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 11:00am to 7:30pm

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Coordinates and verifies required inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers, ensuring that all products are properly counted.  

  • Ensures efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment, including charging optimization.  

  • Participates in establishing work schedules ensuring correct implementation.  

  • Oversees the proper completion of jobs.  

  • Maintains product locator system and ensures the optimal utilization of space.  

  • Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area in accordance with established food safety plan and GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices).  

  • Assists in maintaining the security of the warehouse, per company policy.  

  • Conducts operations in a manner which promotes safety.  

  • Oversees and coordinates unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product and picking/staging of outbound shipments in accordance with the highest possible levels of quality and productivity.  

  • Contributes to and provides ideas and input for site continuous improvement. 

  • Provides support for all functions in the warehouse including but not limited to picking, receiving, loading, unloading, PIR’s, put away, replenishment, and training new hires.  Directly contributes to the productivity of the warehouse as needed to meet or exceed daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual goals and objectives.   

  • Supports supervisors in all areas of the operation as needed including providing backup support when a supervisor is off. 

  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.   

SKILLS REQUIRED: 

  • Certification of willingness to become certified on all warehouse equipment including stock picker, sit down and stand-up forklifts, pallet jack, scissor lift, clamp attachment, slip sheet attachment, scrubber and any other material handling equipment necessary to support the operation.   

  • Attention to detail.    

  • Excellent customer service skills  

  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills    

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills   

  • Ability to consistently follow policies and procedures.  Provide input and feedback to supervisors or managers of employees not following policies and procedures.   

  • Ability to read, write and interpret information.   

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide effectively and with a high level of accuracy.   

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  

  • At least 1 year forklift experience and/or using warehouse distribution equipment. 

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a leadership capacity with a team of 10 or more employees. 

  • Warehouse management system (WMS) experience preferred.      

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.  

  • Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift equipment up to 100 pounds.  

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.  

  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.  

  • Must possess visual acuity, i.e., close, distance, and color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust.    

  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.  

  • Operating machinery and/or power tools / Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.  

  • Noisy environments / Hazardous conditions  

  • Must possess visual acuity, i.e., close, distance, and color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust.    

  • Ability to work in temperature varied environments for extended periods of time, ranging from -10 degrees F to 90 degrees F, and handle the demands of the departments.
