Our company is in need of a full-time DC Material Handler/Lift Truck Operator (DCMH/LTO) to join our staff. You will be responsible for picking, packing, shipping, replenishing, marking, sorting, and receiving. The Lift Truck Operator will operate an industrial lift truck to accomplish various materials handling assignments. While DCMH/LTOs are typically assigned to one work center, the demands of the business require that all be cross trained for multiple operational areas within the DC.

The DCMH/LTO is required to lift cartons that can weigh up to fifty pounds, but the majority of the lifting required is for individual items of less than five pounds.. Material Handlers use carts and manual pallet handling equipment to transport product and materials.

Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  1. Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to sales associates for processing.
  2. Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped.
  3. Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
  4. Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code.
  5. Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for all traffic.
  6. Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
  7. Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
  8. Open crates and other containers.
  9. Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.
  10. Assist in counting of physical inventory.
  11. Weigh and count items for distribution within facility to ensure conformance to company standards.
  12. May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed.
  13. Interface with Warehouse Management System for specific tasks, e.g., receiving, replenishment, stock put away, order filling, packing, shipping, cycle counting, etc.
  14. Prepare parcels for shipping.
  15. Sweep, dust and mop. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
  16. Wear the proper safety equipment.
  17. Identifies and transports requested materials to and from various locations including machines, loading docks, railroad cars, trucks, and storage areas.
  18. Obtains production schedule and/or shipping orders and then identifies, verifies, and transports requested raw materials, equipment, or processing materials accordingly.
  19. Applies understanding of machine loading capacity and loading schedule, ensuring prompt and efficient delivery of required items.
  20. Uses protective materials and strapping equipment to protect and secure loads; once delivered, removes strapping and wrapping, then safely disposes of waste materials in designated containers or areas.
  21. Reports any problems with materials or transportation to supervisor.
  22. Manages and stores, skids, pallets, and other supplies in specified areas.
  23. Services equipment as needed, reporting mechanical or electrical difficulties to truck mechanic.
  24. Performs other related duties as requested.
  25. Must not be under the influence of any substances which could impair judgement.

Reporting Arrangement: This position reports to and will take work direction form a DC Operations Manager.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment: This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters, tape dispensers, and handheld RF units. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Most of the DC operations are in climate-controlled facilities, but some are not. A DCMH/LFO may be required to work in both.

The dress code is casual but should be in good taste. Five Marucci tops are provided to each employee and it is expected they will be worn while at work.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are day-shift, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required as Business conditions require. Work hours as assigned by supervisor.

Travel: No Travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Previous Warehouse Experience.
  • Previous forklift operating experience is preferred.
  • Flexibility/adaptability and have good multi-tasking skills.
  • Applies knowledge and skills to complete task within own area.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting established standards

  • Familiarity with inventory and order filling technology and handheld RF units.
