WAREHOUSE LOGISTICS TECHNICIAN
Job Scope:
This position maintains forklift and other material handling personnel assigned or the receiving, picking, staging, auditing, and shipping of components, finished goods and parcels. This position also supports the flow of materials issued and returned from production, performs component, and finished goods inventory reconciliations, and labels product in accordance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Verifies material transfer orders to and from production are complete and accurate and systemically resolve issues.
- Processes material returns from the production floor in ERP system and completes the material reconciliation to ensure accurate inventory balances.
- Operates powered industrial equipment, such as sit-down forklifts, counter-balance lift, cherry-pickers, turret trucks, and reach trucks.
- Maintain and improve physical inventory by executing controls and improve standards.
- Coordinates warehouse locations for materials.
- Coordinates and schedules inbound deliveries and outbound shipments with local Logistics Coordinator
- Communicates and coordinates with the appropriate internal departments and vendors to resolve any issues that may prevent on-time and accurate inbound receipts and shipments.
- Monitors the workflow and progress of the Forklift Operators to ensure timely receipts and shipments.
- Receives, prepares and processes inbound and outbound parcels from respective departments and vendors.
- Assists in investigating inventory related issues and/or improvements.
- Adhere to company and OHSA safety and environmental policies & procedures.
- Performs all work in a manner that is consistent with the company’s quality system, OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations, including 5S housekeeping standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum a HS Diploma or GED equivalent is required
- Prior experience operating powered industrial equipment in a warehouse and/or manufacturing environment.
- ERP-related experience is a must.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Self-starter with strong work ethic, positive attitude, and strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication (both written and oral), interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- Good understanding of FDA Good Manufacturing Practices Regulations (GMP’s) and OSHA safety requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Able to work overtime & weekends as required.
- Read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions, including SOPs.
- Must BE WILLING TO WORK 12 Hour Shifts - Day and Night Shifts Available
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to stand and walk up to 90% of the shift.
- Wear the required PPE all times while in the manufacturing area. Other personal protective equipment is required as departmental policies or job tasks dictate.
- Must be able to lift and position objects weighing up to 50 lbs., up to 10% of the work time.
