Summary:

The receiving-warehouse clerk is responsible for accepting, inspecting, stocking, verifying and keeping records on incoming shipments; involves a close attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Storing and distributing material, tools, equipment, and products within the warehouse.

Main Activities/Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently follows the orders of the supervising authority and reports to the same.
  • Receives products into PLEX ERP system; Unpacks, examines and routes incoming shipments.
  • Scans received packing slips and certifications into PLEX.
  • Receives and processes all defective parts returned for replacement or credit.
  • Performs daily cycle count.
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming shipments to verify information in accordance with the shipping note, or other records.
  • Keeps records all of receipt of incoming materials and equipment.
  • Recommends method of shipment of returned goods, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
  • Moves stock to next location.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • Records damage, loss, or surplus of goods and materials stored in the warehouse and reporting the same to the supervisor.
  • Assists shipping and receiving unloading trucks, as required.
  • Moves materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
  • Cross-trained on preparing all documents required for shipping and preparing shipping labels.
  • Cross trained on organizing and updating customer specific instructions and requirements for shipment.
  • Places and sorts materials or items on pallets or racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code, for distribution
  • Ensures that all parts issued are used in accordance with FIFO
  • Performs tasks in accordance with applicable requirements of the FDA Quality System Regulation, ISO 13485, MDD, CMDCAS and any other applicable regulations.
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Competencies:

  • Required strong communication skills and the knowledge of using a PC for data entry.
  • Required to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math.
  • Ability to efficiently coordinate works with internal and external workers of the company.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and take orders.
  • Must be able to fill out bills of lading and be familiar with various forms that are used and required by the major freight carriers.
  • Ability to be familiar with and able to interpret packing slips

Reporting Relationships and Supervision:

  • N/A

Education and Experience:

  • High school graduate or a GED equivalent.
  • One year of experience in retailing, packing, stocktaking, supply chain or any related field of study.
  • Experience with UPS/FEDEX online software is desirable.
  • Licensed forklift truck operator a plus.
