Job Description
Studco is seeking a Local CDLA Driver to deliver our products to locations during the evening Monday- Friday- home every evening! This role will support our Logistics team 90% of time working in the Warehouse (7 AM to 3:30 PM) at Studco headquarters in Webster NY, packing orders, using the forklift to move product and assisting the logistics team with other tasks as required.
Main Duties of Position:
- Operate under the logistics department as a forklift operator when no local deliveries are scheduled
- Deliver to local customers during the day, home every evening no night driving
Truck Driver Main Activities:
- Deliver Goods in a timely and safe manner to customers during the day Monday- Friday as required
- Operate at all times in accordance with the Studco Truck Driver Safety Procedure
- Maintain the cleanliness of Studco Vehicles to uphold the company image
- Check all straps and loading to ensure product is safe
- Pre and post trip inspections when driving
- No touch freight
- Home daily
- 70 MPH governing speed on trucks
- New Freightliner trucks
- 48 Ft Stepdeck Trailer
- When not delivering goods, assist dispatch team in packing orders and loading trucks
- Check all paperwork to ensure that all product is accounted for and in good condition.
- Operate at all times in accordance with the Studco Truck Driver Safety Procedure
- Maintain the cleanliness of Studco Vehicles to uphold the company image
- Understand and maintain confidentiality relating to all business activities, especially relating to manufacturing details and customer/ supplier details. Insure employees are doing the same.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by Logistics Supervisor
- Wears personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines- Includes any uniforms if supplied
- Work as a team with the Dispatch department to do whatever is needed.
- The Truck Driver is the face of our company – Support and Sell the company to all customers and workers wherever possible
- Manage time in an effective manner.
- Confidentiality is paramount.
Required Skills:
- CDL – Class A
- Forklift experience (2 years or more)
- Reasoning Ability
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, correspondence & memos
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Decision making skills
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Metal Coil Endorsement required upon hire if not already obtained
