Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Forklift/Warehouse Associate to join our team. The Forklift/Warehouse Associate will be responsible for safely operating a forklift to move and organize products within the warehouse, as well as perform various warehouse duties. This position requires a strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a forklift to move, stack, load, or unload products in a safe and efficient manner.
- Inspect forklifts before each use to ensure they are in proper working condition.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring that products are properly secured.
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming products in designated warehouse locations.
- Pick and prepare products for shipment according to customer orders.
- Perform inventory counts as needed and assist in cycle counting activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse, ensuring that products are stored in designated areas.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure efficient workflow.
- Assist in other warehouse duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (adding, subtracting, etc.)
- Maintain cleanliness within the warehouse.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food production or a similar manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Proven experience working in a warehouse environment.
- Proven experience operating a forklift.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time.
- Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 55 lbs.
- Valid forklift certification and previous experience operating a forklift.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow instructions.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in a warehouse setting.
- Capability to perform in both hot and cold plant environments.
