Chubb is currently seeking a highly experienced senior level leader to develop and manage Personal Risk Services', PRS, North America Recreational Marine strategy as well as financial results, underwriting, product, and business development.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership
Build a high-performing culture that proactively recruits, develops, and retains top talent through effective communication, quality goal setting, and differentiated performance and compensation.
Develop an overall business strategy for the North America Recreational Marine business inclusive of staffing, technology, product, pricing, and marketing support.
Monitor the marketplace and make strategic product recommendations to manage existing business and identify opportunities to significantly grow our business.
Manage portfolio performance and establish underwriting guidelines to remain within budgeted capacity.
Provide oversight on implementation of technology enhancements to the policy administration system.
Work with Operations to ensure proper staffing and delivery of acceptable service levels for critical aspects of the business.
Collaborate with internal teams, including claims, legal, and analytics, to provide comprehensive risk management solutions and deliver exceptional client outcomes.
Partner with the reinsurance team to develop and execute reinsurance strategies.
Underwriting
Work with the Recreational Marine Underwriting Manager to ensure appropriate underwriting guidance and controls are in place.
Ensure staffing levels are maintained to deliver an appropriate client / agent experience.
Establish referral rules to ensure underwriters are reviewing the proper type and amount of business.
Ensure controls are in place to meet regulatory compliance.
Product
Maintain existing products and ensure the contract and coverages are current and competitive within the industry. Develop new products and coverages as needed.
Work with Recreational Marine Product Leader to develop a more robust rating plan with increased levels of segmentation that align with differentiated coverage offerings.
Advance underwriting and pricing accuracy by identifying and implementing reliable sources of verified third party data.
Partner with the Catastrophe Modeling team to monitor areas of catastrophe and aggregation concerns and lead appropriate business actions to achieve corporate goals.
Marketing
Work with the PRS Chief Marketing Officer to develop a digital marketing strategy for various distribution channels.
Maintain effective communication to inform internal and external constituents of PRS’ Recreational Marine strategy.
Represent PRS in Public Relations inquiries as well as external speaker and panel discussions.
Sales & Distribution
Work with Rec Marine Sales and Distribution leader to develop annual and strategic financial plans contemplating market factors and changing performance indicators. Understands the financial relationships, dependencies, trends, risks and potential returns.
Drive business plans that yield profitable results.
Keep current on state/territory issues, regulations, and trends and appropriately share information to drive state results.
Drive profit improvement process and appropriate rate while balancing with retention. Ensure teams utilization of tools and resources to achieve profit goals.
Identify enhanced new business and cross-sell opportunities to create growth within other lines of business.
Skills and experience that will lead to success:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in marine insurance, recreational marine preferred, with a strong knowledge of personal watercraft, boats, yachts, and mega yachts.
Strong foundation of underwriting, risk management, book management, producer management and staff management.
Strong relationships with marine agency and reinsurance partners.
A proven leader that is strategic and creative in their thinking and can articulate the Recreational Marine vision internally and externally.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, agents, and internal teams.
