Estimated 2-5 TDYs annually (3 domestic and 2 international)BACKGROUND:USAID provides operational resources and staff for the Prosper Africa Executive Secretariat (PAES), which supports the Prosper Africa Coordinator and its 17 interagency partners. Through the Africa Trade and Investment platform, the Agency works to reduce regional trade barriers, promote trade under the African Growth and Opportunity Act, and attract investment that drives inclusive economic growth.The Bureau for Africa (AFR) is the USAID/Washington operating unit charged with managing USAID development and trade programs in Africa.PROSPER AFRICA:

Prosper Africa is a U.S. Presidential-level, national security initiative to strengthen the economic partnership between the United States and Africa and increase two-way trade and investment.The Prosper Africa Executive Secretariat (PAES), supported by USAID, seeks a Trade Advisor to support the Trade Team in coordinating, synchronizing, monitoring, and reporting on Prosper Africa's efforts to increase two-way trade between the United States and African countries.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include but are not limited to:Support the development of overarching strategy for Prosper's efforts to increase two-way trade.Conduct outreach to key firms and US trade stakeholders.Provide technical input into papers, briefing materials, and communication products.Assist in logistics and technical aspects of key convenings and conferences.Manage institutional trade relationship databases.Monitor ongoing trade program activities and provide briefings and reports.Coordinate with existing programs and mechanisms.Serve as PAES's principal advisor to working groups and meetings.Develop and update timelines for Prosper Africa's investment strategy.Other related duties as assigned.Salary:

The annual salary range for this position is $126,000.00-$132,000.00, negotiable based on various factors.NOTE: The incumbent will not perform inherently governmental functions but will advise and facilitate as appropriate.Required Skills

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS, EDUCATION, and/or EXPERIENCE:Required:Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus 10 years of experience, or a master's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience.Experience collaborating with US-Africa trade partners and officials.Strong expertise in written and oral communication, particularly in trade subject matter.Knowledge of private sector development and international trade.Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.Desired Skills

Preferred:Ability to work under pressure and time constraints.Proficiency in Google and Microsoft applications.Strong communication skills in the global investment space.About Us
