Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County takes changing the lives of youth to heart. We go above and beyond to ensure that every youth that walks through our doors has a world class club experience that provides them with the opportunity for a GREAT FUTURE! The primary functions of the Program Director are, in collaboration with the Club Director, to be responsible for the daily operations of the program including, but not limited to, the implementation of the Youth Development Plan, supervision of staff and youth, establish and maintain relationships with personnel and parents. 2. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The job duties & responsibilities are, but not limited to: Adopt the Formula for Impact and ensure that the Club is reaching the kids who need us the most, providing them with an outcome driven Club experience that is resulting in academic success, healthier lifestyles and better character and citizenship for our members. Provide a positive, safe, and productive environment to all club members, staff, and volunteers consistently. Plan and oversee the administration of designated Club programs and activities that support Youth Development Outcomes. Establish Club program objectives consistent with the organizational goals and mission. Ensure quality in day-to-day programs and activities. Maintain that members are encouraged to participate in a variety of program areas/activities and receive instruction to develop skills. Demonstrate leadership and professionalism to club members, staff and volunteers. Maintain confidentiality in regards to staff, volunteers, club member’s and family matters at all times. Work with staff members to ensure that program areas are safe, that equipment is maintained in good working condition and that repair needs are reported immediately to the Club Director. Assist the Club Director to collect data and prepare regular reports as needed for programs, funding sources and other projects. Oversee proper record keeping including daily attendance, program participation, achievement, problems/issues, etc. Assist the Club Director to increase visibility of Club programs via posting daily schedules, announcement of upcoming events ensuring all areas are covered by club staff. Communicate clearly and appropriately with club members, staff, parents, and volunteers as needed to ensure all needs are met and questions answered. Be prepared and able to manage the daily operations and supervision of staff and volunteers in the absence of the Club Director. Be familiar with and follow the chain of command and the policies and procedures of the Club at all times. Be familiar with, and ensure staff and volunteers are familiar with, the Club’s guidelines in regards to the following: Monthly fire drills, including the posting of fire drills’ schedule. CPR / First Aid, and required supplies. Emergency phone numbers, such as Child Abuse Hotline, Poison Control, etc. Posting of daily schedule. Posting of all emergency protocol and State employment guidelines. Work closely with Club Director to identify concerns of misconduct and attempts to resolve or eliminate causes of conflict among staff and club members. OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Actively participate in BGCA trainings, internal trainings, and All Staff meetings. May oversee special programs and/or events (e.g. Torch Club, Youth of the Year, and Awards Programs), and/or participate in the implementation of other Club activities as necessary. May be required to drive Club van. Travel between sites and to activities as needed. May consult with parents concerning member and site issues. May handle deposits and banking transactions. Clean area as needed at the end of day. Fill in at a Club as needed. Other related duties as specified by the School Based Club Director. 3. QUALIFICATIONS

BACKGROUND SCREENING

Must submit to and pass Level 2 background screening through the Florida Department of Children & Families. Must pass pre-employment drug test. CERTIFICATIONS

Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people OR A minimum of 2 years’ experience in program development and implementation for an after-school program. SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

Ability to work regular Club hours, evenings, and some weekends. Report to scheduled shift consistently and on time. High energy, driven, dedicated, motivated, confident, flexible, and creative. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize. Ability to effectively direct and supervise subordinates. Ability to work independently and in team settings. Ability to operate a motor vehicle. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Ability to operate basic office equipment such as copy machine, facsimile equipment, and computer. Care properly for equipment and resources. Ability to promote the dignity and respect of those we serve. Maintain positive interactions with club members, parents/guardians, co-workers, supervisors and people in the community. Maintain confidentiality of those we serve. Follow policies, procedures and rules of the organization. Serve as role model and demonstrate, encourage and offer direction in fairness, consistency, attentiveness, ability to work with others, appropriate dress and appearance, and effective conflict resolution. Travel

Some travel may be required for training and/or other business purposes. 4. WORKING CONDITIONS

Our offices, neighborhood clubhouses and school-based clubs are fast-paced work environments and are strategically located in areas of St. Lucie County where youth need us most. Based on the organization's needs, flexibility to work different schedules and work in different locations in St. Lucie County is required due to changing business demands. General office conditions is the standard work environment (standing, sitting, and walking). The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling, stooping/kneeling, reaching with hands and arms, and finger dexterity. This position requires extended talking, listening, sitting, walking, and standing; computer viewing, and keyboard entry. Regularly lifting up to 25 pounds. Daily operation of personal motor vehicle relevant to carrying out job duties is required for this position. Ability to think strategically and ability to sit for more than four hours per day. 6.
