The Opiate Treatment Outpatient Program (OTOP), the OTOP Women's Center, and the OTOP Mobile Methadone Van Program provide Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and counseling to opiate use disorder in conjunction with medical and psychiatric services. The target population for OTOP is low-income medically/psychiatrically compromised opiate dependent individuals who reside in San Francisco, primarily in the South of Market, Mission, Castro, and Tenderloin areas. This includes a large proportion of African Americans and Latinos, gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender individuals, and women of childbearing age, pregnant women, and post-partum women. OTOP clients are low-income and uninsured or underinsured, facing multiple layers of problems, including poly-drug abuse, psychiatric difficulties, life-threatening health problems, and significant cultural barriers to receiving proper care. This population is at especially high risk for HIV. Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, the incumbent provides a range of social work counseling services to OTOP clients with multiple layers of instability and vulnerability including housing, financial, legal, medical care coordination, transportation, food, and clothing. Services are provided to all OTOP clients with priority given to HIV+ clients and clients with severe and persistent mental health issues. The incumbent provides culturally appropriate social work services, including mental health screening, brief interventions, and treatment planning. Comprehensive training and clinical supervision hours are provided to support growth in clinical skills. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. The salary range for this position is $29.79 - $38.74 (Hourly Rate). Department Description
The UCSF Department of Psychiatry at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG) is dedicated to providing culturally competent services to the diverse patient population we serve. The Division of Substance Abuse and Addiction Medicine (DSAAM) provides multi-disciplinary consultation and treatment for patients with substance use disorders. Required Qualifications
Possession of a bachelor's degree and one year of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position. Experience with providing substance abuse assessments using standardized interview protocols and treatment planning; experience with substance abuse counseling in individual, group, and family modalities as indicated; experience with linkage to services as indicated. Experience working with dual diagnosis populations and diverse populations in gender, sexual orientation, and ethnicity. Experience creating and implementing treatment plans. Preferred Qualifications
Licensure as a clinical social worker, psychologist, or therapist, or completion of an advanced degree in social work, psychology, or related field and registered as an intern completing hours for licensure. Graduate school coursework in psychology, counseling, social work, addiction studies, or public health leading to certification or licensure. Experience working in methadone maintenance treatment with opiate-addicted clients. Experience with community outreach, peer educator programs, and volunteer supervision. Case management experience and one year work experience in human services. License/Certification
California state registration or certification as an Alcohol/Drug Counselor (must have CAADE, CADTP, or CCAPP Certificate). About UCSF
