Location: Chicago, IL Job Description: Serves as a liaison to the academic and administrative leadership and staff of Chicago Booth’s research and learning centers, Gift Planning, and new initiatives as they arise. Serves as the day-to-day liaison for the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and the Rustandy Center for Social Sector Innovation, while supporting major and principal gift fundraising activities of all Centers. Helps teams navigate critical partnerships between the Centers and the Office of Advancement. Drives the agendas and follows up on actions from Center meetings. Responds to inquiries from Center staff and drafts communications on behalf of Center leadership. Proactively shares information between the Centers and the Office of Advancement. Supports Centers management of their Advisory Boards, including solicitations, renewals, and board activities. Supports collaborative activities between the Office of Advancement and research and learning centers, including coordinating prospect visits, stewardship calls, and special event opportunities. Manages a portfolio of 40-50 prospects, including identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding prospects. Establishes fundraising goals and priorities based on department objectives; meets or exceeds activity goals. Closes gifts in excess of $100,000. Identifies, analyzes, and qualifies donor interest to maximize giving. Assists with overall planning efforts for the University’s prospects. Contributes to strategic plans, policies, and procedures for Centers and Initiatives fundraising and engagement. Writes timely and strategic correspondences to advance relationships. Works with others to maximize prospective donor cultivation; partners with Donor Relations on stewardship activities. Works closely with Senior Leadership, Officers and Deans to design strategic objectives and action steps that will lead to the successful realization of these projects. May brief senior level administrators in preparation for contact with prospects. Performs other related work as needed. Preferred Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field. Experience: A minimum of three years of work experience in customer service, nonprofit management, sales, advancement, donor relations, stewardship, alumni relations, or similar work. Technical Skills or Knowledge: Demonstrated MS Office expertise (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Web conferencing proficiency. Event logistics and internet researching skills. Preferred Competencies Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills. Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated initiative, and work both independently and within a team. Work effectively and diplomatically with colleagues, as well as with students, faculty, and corporate contacts in a multitude of communication methods i.e., in person, email, and phone. Creative and resourceful with strong problem-solving skills and willingness to seek out, coordinate, and appropriately disseminate information to key stakeholders. A strong commitment to customer service and interest in relationship building. Manage confidential information with discretion and tact. Working Conditions This position is currently expected to work a minimum of three days per week in the office. Work as needed, including occasional evenings and weekends.
