in the Structural Heart Division. What You’ll Work On We are seeking a talented Multidisciplinary Engineering Manager to join our team. In this role, you will: Utilize your engineering expertise to lead and contribute to the design and development of innovative medical devices and components/subsystems, aligning with our company’s strategic goals. Manage and execute development work as part of major projects. Oversee and conduct analyses to establish design specifications and performance requirements. Provide technical insights on manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and engineering planning, highlighting their advantages and limitations. Guide and mentor direct reports in selecting and applying techniques to solve problems and make sound design recommendations. Offer leadership and mentorship to other engineers and technicians. Supervise up to 10 reports and actively participate in tasks alongside other engineers and technicians as needed. In addition: Run empirical and experimental analysis. Conceptualize new devices using material knowledge and innovative mechanical design. Conceive and build prototypes. Work with outside consultants, vendors, and the medical community. Project planning. Ensure requirements of TDP and/or PDP are followed as necessary. Coordinate and manage resources to meet detailed project timelines and milestones. Support animal and bench testing and clinical evaluations. Ensure that the quality system requirements are being met. Support design reviews and physician visits. Define product specifications including justification and supportive testing. Create product drawings and/or models using Solid Works or equivalent. Develop test methods. Hire and retain a diverse, highly qualified staff and provide ongoing performance feedback. Maintain a safe and professional work environment. Comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Bioengineering is preferred. 11+ years of experience. Minimum 10 years of experience in R&D engineering or related fields. Experience designing and testing medical devices, preferably interventional cardiology devices. Experience with a variety of manufacturing processes and designing for manufacturability. Project leadership and management skills required. Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred. Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment. Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced, changing environment. Strong leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback to build positive relationships and improve business results. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a timely manner. Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills, and the ability to hold others accountable.
