SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of this position is to develop, coordinate, direct, and administer our facility’s marketing and public relations programs and services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain a thorough knowledge of our facility’s admissions requirements, services, and requirements.
Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the facility’s marketing programs to maintain and increase our census and to provide the community with information relative to our facility, its programs, services, and practices.
Assist department directors in the development and use of marketing policies and procedures, and establish a rapport in and between departments so that each staff member can realize the importance of his/her role in our marketing and public relations program.
Assist in the development, implementation, and tracking of customer service satisfaction surveys.
Interpret the facility’s policies and procedures governing the release of information to employees, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, etc., as necessary.
Ensure that public information describing the services provided in the facility is accurate and fully descriptive.
In conjunction/coordination with the Administrator, develop and implement long-range plans for the facility in the effort to establish and maintain our marketing and public relations program.
Serve as a liaison to the Administrator, medical staff, and other professional and supervisory staff.
Maintain schedules for all marketing and public relations programs.
Develop, schedule, and guide tours/personnel through the facility.
Maintain an adequate liaison with families, residents, and community and civic leaders.
Participate in community service projects and develop appropriate problem-solving actions.
Schedule and participate in departmental meetings concerning our marketing and public relations programs and activities.
Interpret resident rights to the resident, family, and staff personnel as necessary or appropriate.
Assure that adequate financial records and expense reports are submitted to the Administrator as required.
Assure that the residents' rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property, and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints, are well established and maintained at all times.
Coordinate special functions with all departments.
Assist with promotions, publications, newsletters, etc., as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Minimum 2 years experience in a healthcare setting required.
Must possess the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of this position.
Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people within the facility.
Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
