The Accounting Specialist/Controller will handle the full range of financial responsibilities for our operations, including bookkeeping, cash flow management, financial analysis, and forecasting. You'll work directly with our founder to implement efficient financial processes, manage relationships with banks, and provide insights to support strategic decision-making. This role is perfect for someone who has a strong accounting background and is eager to take on more responsibility and grow with the company. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries. 
  • Manage cash flow, conduct financial analysis, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts for management review. 
  • Oversee construction loan management and profit forecasting. 
  • Collaborate with banks and financial institutions to manage financing needs and maintain strong relationships. 
  • Implement and improve accounting processes and controls to enhance efficiency.
  • Provide strategic financial insights to support decision-making and company growth.
  • Analyze financial data for strategic decision-making. 
  • Manage various office duties as needed.

Qualifications: 

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with prior experience as a Controller or Accounting Manager preferred.
  • Experience in the construction industry is a huge plus.
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. 
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets. 
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strategic mindset. 
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks. 

Compensation: 

  • Competitive salary at $25.00 - $30.00 an hour, based on experience. 
  • 20-25 hours per week 
  • Room to grow into a financial/operational role.
