Job Description – Vice President, Commercial Development

General DescriptionThe Vice President, Commercial Development will lead the day to day execution of the organization’s commercial development strategic initiatives. This position will lead and developproposal strategy and participate in proposal and estimate preparation, negotiate contracts, provide insight and counsel for design parameters, and interface regularly with clients throughout project execution. When not traveling, this role will report onsite to a Quanta Office.

Duties

Leads negotiations with customer and obtains required internal approvals to finalize contractsDevelops, prepares, and implements short- and long-term commercial development plans ensuring they conform to organization objectivesManages proposal response process, including detailed RFP requirements, content creation, and inputs from various internal and external sourcesSupports deal structure and pricing with business-value analysis, and negotiates prices for proactive bids and proposalsWorks closely with commercial excellence team members and other departments ensuring maximum exposure of the organization’s capabilities, including an understanding of the offerings of other Quanta companies and the presentation of those capabilities when appropriateLeads teams in maintaining optimal relations and clear communication between team members (both internal and external) during preparation of the scope, budget, and schedule related components of project specific and program level proposalsProvides technical assistance, subject matter expertise, and industry regulatory insight to ensure client satisfaction on design and construction complianceDevelops relationships with design teaming partnersDevelops and executes strategies to limit the Company’s risk exposure and maximize profitabilityReviews and approves the comprehensive basis of estimate (i.e. assumptions, exclusions, inclusions, and qualifications)Monitors and evaluates industry trends and customer drivers, and meets regularly with managers and stakeholders to discuss the organization’s commercial development strategyObtains information and feedback during project execution (after award) from both the project team and client to develop best practices for future proposal developmentAdheres to internal standards, policies, and proceduresPerforms special projects and completes other job-related duties as assignedRequired Experience and Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Science/Management, Engineering, or equivalent field; equivalent work experience, or combination of work and education, may be substituted10+ years’ relevant experience in the electric transmission and distribution industry negotiating contracts with electric utilities for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) workSkills

Ability to manage/supervise other team members effectivelyAbility to interact effectively and professionally with other team members and levels within the organizationAbility to build trusting relationshipsStrong problem evaluation/solving skillsStrong team building skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsStrong attention to detailStrong communication skills (verbal and written)Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office)
