Job Description

Use hand-welding equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products to specifications.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience: 

  • 2 years of Mig / Tig welding experience of steel, stainless steel and aluminum in a production environment.

Hours:

  • 8:00 am - 1:30 pm
  • Monday - Thursday

Skills/Abilities:

  • Production welders need outstanding reading, math, and communication skills.
  • The ability to read and understand blueprints, adjust welding conditions and materials, safety procedures, good eye-hand coordination, and physical stamina are essential.

ESSENTIAL RESULTS:

  • Ability to Mig / Tig both steel, stainless steel and aluminum products.
  • Monitor welding performance such as quality and efficiency
  • Follow safe manufacturing and material handling practices.
  • Can follow written and verbal details to complete assignments or jobs.
  • Can record time accurately including time and attendance and labor reporting data.
  • Can use a ruler, tape measure or caliper to perform accurate measurements per specific print and drawing tolerance.
  • Welds products using fixtures with minimum supervision.
  • Can interpret basic elements of a drawing or sketch, including weld symbols.
  • Can identify types of joints and welds.
  • Can set-up and maintain machines including changing wire, changing gas, and cleaning nozzles.
  • Other duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Must be physically capable of standing/bending/stooping/squeezing 8+ hour shift(s)
  • Must be able to lift 0 – 30 lbs. without assistance and up to 70 lbs. with assistance. 
  • Must have the ability to push, pull material and equipment as needed.
  • Must be able to work in non-dust/non-climate-controlled area.
  • Must be able to wear required safety PPE including respirators.
