Salary Range : $90,000-$118,000

Position Summary :

Midnight Sun AUS, LLC is seeking a full-time Quality Control/Safety Manager to oversee and ensure compliance with quality control and safety protocols on construction projects. This role involves managing the Quality Control Program, conducting site inspections, and resolving issues in collaboration with project teams, while also overseeing the Safety Program, including safety training, inspections, and accident investigations.

Duties/Responsibilities :

Quality Control Duties/Responsibilities:

Manage the Quality Control Program.

Review project specifications and drawings prior to the start of project for project quality requirements and ensures work performed on-site complies with contract requirements.

Review jobs with Project Manager, Superintendent and Project Foreman - scope of work, submittals, schedule, and contract; establish lines of communication and areas of responsibilities with GC/Owner regarding change orders, billings, etc.

Work with Project Management and applicable personnel to schedule material and labor with other departments and service as needed.

Create, update, and maintain the project submittal log and all other project specific quality control reports.

Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications by direct review, and by leveraging the knowledge and experience of others in the project team when necessary.

Conduct weekly QC meetings with the Superintendent.

Verify and document that all materials received for the project are in conformance with approved submittals, and contract specifications. Verifies all onsite materials are handled and stored properly for use on the project.

Conduct pre-construction meetings with the superintendent and all subcontractors prior to the start of each new phase of work.

Provide daily QC reports that reinforce activities that are being constructed in conformance with each specific project's established standard and constructively confronts any non-conformance to produce the desired outcome in a timely manner.

Manage and resolve issues in conjunction with the project superintendent and the project manager.

Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.

Review of materials delivered to the jobsite to ensure they meet specifications and approvals.

Physically measure length, angle, thickness, control setting established on jobsite.

Compare work against established standards such as specifications and drawings; Ensure products adhere to quality standards.

Convey information in reports (status reports) and meetings.

Ensure all reports are turned in by personnel and pay close attention to detail to ensure accuracy of reports and projects.

Ensure to meet all required company and project deadlines.

Ensure personnel are aware of quality control and analytical procedures.

Implement methods to inspect, test and evaluate products and production equipment.

Interpret blueprints for the purpose of establishing customers critical needs and how they should be measured.

Conduct daily visits to all active jobsites to ensure progress and record information with established production goals and obtain information needed by Project Management/Estimation.

Document job progress including photos to be downloaded to project folder.

Protect and restrict documents and/or materials for use by authorized individuals.

Be in constant contact with the Project Manager to ensure the jobs run on schedule and under budget, and all information and materials needed by the Foremen are provided in a timely manner.

Coordinate and document the testing and commissioning of building systems (when necessary).

Documents final inspections, certificates of occupancy, and acceptance of completed work.

Maintain the project "as-built" drawings on a daily basis.

Records and distributes Contractor punch list items, Government punch list items, and verifies their completion prior to Final inspection.

Assemble and forward project closeout documents that include O&M manuals, as-builts, and warranties.

Stop work if necessary to resolve matters that affect safety, quality and/or inhibit the logical progress of work.

Complete other tasks/duties as may be assigned.

Safety Manager Duties/Responsibilities:

Manage the Safety Program.

Follow all safety protocols and procedures set forth by the regulation, company, worksite, project.

Develop and ensure safe equipment operating techniques.

Plan, lead, and participate in job site safety meetings.

Review and update monthly, all site-specific safety plans with the project teams.

Follow up with subcontractor representatives to ensure proper disciplinary procedures.

Implement, inspect, and maintain job site and office manuals. Train employees in various safety procedures according to the construction safety management plan.

Conduct periodic safety inspections on all job sites to ensure safety procedures are in place.

Record and compile data, update logs, monitor equipment, and schedule maintenance.

Update and maintain the company's contingency and recovery plan.

Perform and oversee the investigation of accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions including interfacing with workers' compensation claims.

Communicate with injured workers and plan return to work strategies.

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Industry Experience

5+ years construction experience as a Quality Control Supervisor or Project Superintendent.

Familiarity with quality standards and processes to follow federal, state, and local regulations.

Understanding construction practices, techniques, codes, and regulations.

Experience creating schedules and extensive record keeping.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to multitask and operate under strict deadlines while meeting standards on the jobsites.

Must be able to understand and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Demonstrate a professional demeanor.

Certifications/Licenses/Other

OSHA 30-Hour Certification required or obtain within 2 months of hire.

CPR/First Aid certified required or obtain within 2 months of hire.

USACE "Construction Quality Management for Contractors" Certification required or obtain within 2 months of hire.

Must be able to pass and maintain a security clearance and background check.

Ability to speak Spanish a plus.

Work Environment:

Performance of the required job duties will be in an office environment along with visits to sites that are under construction, which may include various weather conditions.

May be required to drive between project sites that can be miles apart or miles from the assigned office location.

Ability to walk terrain and surfaces that may be far, uneven, or temporary.

Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear.

Ability to frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel.

Ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, squat, or reach.

Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Must be physically able to walk, climb ladders, and other demands needed for inspections of projects and assessing all areas of construction.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
