Job Summary:
Sushi Lucy seeks a Server that is responsible for providing excellent customer service and promoting an exceptional dining experience for customers. Sushi Lucy is looking for motivated, dedicated and professional servers to be a part of our team! The ideal candidate for this position should have at least 2 years of experience as a server in the sushi restaurant/hospitality industry.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to use any credit card processing machines, cash register, and touch screen monitors.
- Basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.
- Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages, according to local state laws.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a high end fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Sushi, Japanese Beers/Wine, and Sake.
- Food handling certificate (Preferred)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Responsible, trustworthy, attention to detail, cleanliness and safety.
- Ability to be mobile for a minimum of 6 hours on your feet.
- Bilingual is a plus
Duties:
- Greeting customers upon arrival at the restaurant.
- Providing excellent customer service during their dining experience.
- Memorizing the food menu and Beer / Wine and Sake list as well as any nightly specials.
- Providing suggestions for food or drink choices to diners.
- Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and being alert to patron spills or other special needs and setting tables throughout the shift.
- Carrying drinks and food from the kitchen or bar area to the tables.
- Provides information to help with food and beverage selections.
- Presents ordered choices in a prompt and efficient manner.
- Maintains dining ambiance with an enthusiastic attitude and a focus on cleanliness.
- Protects establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
- Transmits orders to the kitchen by recording patrons’ choices and identifying patrons’ special dietary needs and special requests.
- Obtains revenues by totaling charges, issuing bills, accepting payments, delivering bills and payments to Front of the House Supervisor/host, and returning change or credit card and signature slip to patrons.
- Practices “Upselling” at all times.
- Respond to customer complaints quickly to resolve them effectively.
- Always attend to customers with a smile.
