The Center for Dissemination and Implementation (CDI), within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, consists of three national centers and numerous addiction and mental health services implementation projects at national, health system, state, county and community levels. CDI’s mission is to advance the science of implementation and improve equitable access to the best treatments available for the people who need them the most. Candidates are sought for an immediate start. The Research Data Analyst 1 (RDA 1) will manage and analyze large amounts of information, under the direction of investigators and researchers. The RDA 1 will be primarily responsible for database creation, management and data analysis and will be expected to complete the following: manage, clean, analyze data sets, prepare written reports for investigators, communicate and write results in an understandable and effective manner. We are looking for a motivated, reliable, detail-oriented, and responsible individual who will perform well in a collaborative setting by demonstrating initiative, being responsive to requests made by investigators, and showing competence in multi-project management. The candidate will have an array of opportunities to enrich his/her research experience and publications through collaborations with investigators in the department who have expertise in areas such as implementation science, substance use, and mental health. Excellent communication skills and fluency in SPSS/STATA and/or R is required, and proficiency with database management (e.g. Redcap) and data visualization software is highly desired. Individuals with some experience in building websites or in developing R/R Shiny tools will have more diverse opportunities. Knowledge of Python is a plus. Duties include: Collect, manage and clean datasets. Employ new and existing tools to interpret, analyze, and visualize multivariate relationships in data. Create databases and reports, develop algorithms and statistical models, and perform statistical analyses appropriate to data and reporting requirements. Use system reports and analyses to identify potentially problematic data, make corrections, and determine root cause for data problems from input errors or inadequate field edits, and suggest possible solutions. Develop reports, charts, graphs and tables for use by investigators and for publication and presentation. Collaborate with faculty and research staff on data collection and analysis methods. Provide documentation based on audit and reporting criteria to investigators and research staff. Communicate with government officials, grant agencies and industry representatives. * - Other duties may also be assigned DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: M.S. Degree in Statistics, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics or related field with 3+ years of experience Experience and proficiency using R, STATA, SPSS, or Python Experience with data visualization software Experience in applying statistical analysis methods, such as linear regression and longitudinal data analysis amongst others Ability to multi-task various projects with different timelines Ability to collaborate with senior investigators EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED): Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and relevant experience. Experience in a quantitative discipline such as economics, finance, statistics or engineering. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED): Substantial experience with MS Office and analytical programs. Strong writing and analytical skills. Ability to prioritize workload High level of self-motivation and ability to work independently Resourcefulness, careful attention to detail, and strong organizational skills High tolerance for ambiguity, demonstrated flexibility, and a willingness to accept new responsibilities. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*: Sitting in place at computer for long periods of time with extensive keyboarding/dexterity. Occasionally use a telephone. The expected pay range for this position is $82,468 - $106,256 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
