OBJECTIVES OF THE JOB:
The Director is responsible and accountable for the overall administration of children’s services, including the Child Development Program. The Director will establish strategic initiatives and oversee adjustments to services in the areas of advocacy, independence, curriculum, structure and staffing. Oversight includes the development and implementation of policies and procedures within the Child Development Program that will ensure a high-quality accredited program that surpasses the needs of the children we serve. Be a team player on the Leadership team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervision and Development of Staff
Recruit, orient, train, supervise, and evaluate appropriate staff. Arrange for volunteer, student assistance and supervision.
Arrange for orientation and ongoing in-service training of both assistant Directors, staff, students, and volunteers; including in Monthly all-staff meetings.
Community Outreach
Plan and implement marketing strategies that build the program’s consensus and community support by developing and maintaining relationships in the children’s services network, including OU, DHS, Sooner Success, Sooner Start, Rainbow Fleet, etc.
In coordination with other WovenLife staff, organize and host exhibits at children related networking and educational events. This may also include opportunities to speak on behalf of WovenLife programs.
Build a presence in the community on behalf of WovenLife children’s services by attending relevant open houses, trainings, forums, and other related opportunities.
In coordination with the Administrative Team, provide direction on the production and distribution of marketing materials.
Program Management and Development
Develop and implement program policies, goals, and objectives.
Develop, implement, and manage the daily operations of the Child Development Program, including all staffing needs and assist where needed.
Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations for Child Care licensure, DHS, NAEYC, CACFP, Sunbeam/ Early Head Start, Medicaid, ADA and others affecting facility and programs.
Oversee and maintain the accreditation process and standards.
In collaboration with program staff promote school readiness, individualization, and inclusion for children with disabilities by providing technical assistance, coaching and mentoring, and ongoing training.
Work with teaching staff to develop, implement and document the transition of children from the program to preschool or Kindergarten.
Work with teachers to coordinate accommodations and adaptations. Provide guidance and developmentally appropriate strategies to maximize successful inclusion and continuity of care for children with disabilities.
Provide a safe and clean environment for staff and children by overseeing supply orders and reporting facility maintenance.
Prepare and analyze the results of annual parent survey.
Develop parent education, in-service training for families and family community activities, coordinates and facilitate family educational opportunities quarterly.
Review monthly newsletter and provide information to the Assistant Director for families and staff regarding federal, state and local issues affecting children and families.
In coordination with the OT, PT and Speech Therapist, oversee the provision of Medical Rehabilitation support services to children enrolled in the Child Development Program to ensure fluidity of services.
Identify gaps in service impacting children, make programmatic changes as needed, and identify potential growth areas for the program, including any new or emerging needs.
Oversee the strategic design, coordination, and implementation of Inter-generational programming for the Child Development Program and Adult Day Program. Establish the Inter-generational program as a model of excellence for Oklahoma. In collaboration with the Director of Adult & Senior Services, the Director will develop and implement a training curriculum to train staff on inter-generational programming to ensure collaboration and buy-in across all service lines.
Ensure that program content, policies, procedures, and staff documentation comply with accreditation standards and regulations, funding source requirements, government regulations and applicable laws.
Exercise leadership in health and safety issues, taking proactive steps to prevent potential injury or harm to children, staff, and volunteers. Ensure that staff are updated and retrained in safety procedures on a regular basis and providing leadership during emergency or crisis situations, including notification of appropriate agencies.
Pursue educational and research activities to continue to expand knowledge of best practices providing care for persons with disabilities, and their families.
Financial Management
Develop and manage the budget and program goals.
Ensure program meets allocations for budget projections.
Oversee administration of contracts and grants applicable to children’s services.
Access and maintain current information on local, state, and federal fiscal issues relating to effective service provisions.
Develop action plans to ensure continued funding as well as seek reimbursement from all eligible payer sources for client service, for example, Child Care Block Grants, USDA, Health and Human Services, Part H (now Part C); Part B, third party insurance, etc.
Monitor monthly financial statements and adjust spending as needed to maintain compliance.
Evaluate expenses for cost-efficient operations.
Complete, submit, and maintain reports as required.
Advise the President on appropriate public/private funding needs. If recommended, assist in obtaining needed certification for billing purposes to these sources.
CDP Oversight
Oversee the implementation of intake function, including enrollment, enrollment packet, tours, inquiries, assessment, and follow-up in coordination with the Assistant Director and Training and Curriculum Specialist, where applicable. Working knowledge of ProCare and TS Gold.
Serve as member of multidisciplinary team in preparing and evaluating the service needs of children enrolled in the program.
Serve as primary liaison between the program staff, participants, families, or caregivers.
Maintain regular contact with families concerning children and their enrollment in the program to ensure fluidity of both academic and support service’s needs.
Recommend and assist families in acquiring the services they need.
Perform other duties as assigned and work as a team member with WovenLife staff and administration.
