Position Overview
The Point-of-Care (POC) businessdevelops and sustains systems for in vitro diagnostic (IVD) instruments forpoint of care and laboratory medical testing. This position is part of theCritical Care clinical setting within the POC business line and reports to theHead of R&D, Critical Care. The Life Cycle Management R&D Lead (BenchTop Blood Gas) is responsible for leading the cross-functional efforts relatedto sustaining engineering and life cycle management activities of the bench topblood gas product line and is based out of the POC headquarters in Walpole, MA.
Key Responsibilities
Lead global cross-functional commercialproduct support teams responsible for delivering platform enhancements,implementing cost reduction programs, driving corrective actions in response tofield issues, responding to new regulatory requirements, and addressingobsolescence or manufacturing quality issues Establish global cross-functional solutionteams based upon business needs Lead one or more cross-functional (chemistry,electrical, mechanical, software, systems) agile scrum or Kanban teams Accountable for the overall delivery of lifecycle management (LCM) projects and investigations to the established budget. Drive cross-functional technical and businessdecisions Clearly and concisely communicate projectstatus and escalate unresolved team impediments Engage new product development teams to sharelearnings and coordinate the transition to commercial support
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
BS/MSin Engineering or Science with a minimum of 10+ years' work experience in acombination of technical product development, sustaining engineering, or manufacturingroles StrongProject Management skills Strongverbal and written communication skills Operateflexibly in an environment with competing priorities Exhibita bias toward action, balanced by strong analytical decision-making skills Ableto lead and influence development or problem-solving teams Strongsense of ownership and accountability Integrity,professionalism, and overall commitment to excellence
PreferredKnowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
5+years' experience in the medical device industry or other regulated industrypreferred Knowledgeof agile, lean and/or six sigma processes preferred
