Job Specifics and Requirements:
Area: Reno, NV
Licensure Requirements: Must have open, active, and in good standing NV State Pharmacist License
Education: Bachelors required, PharmD Preferred
Years of Experience: 1+ years of previous management experience
Setting: Retail
Schedule: The schedule will vary depending on business needs. Monday- Friday: 10-7 pm & Saturday: 9-5:30
Length of Assignment: Direct Hire
Pay: $75.00+
Background/ Drug Requirements: Must be willing to submit to a background check, health and drug screen.
Pharmacist-In-Charge
Job Responsibilities
- Lead all pharmacy operations to achieve business objectives.
- Accurately review and interpret medication orders; prepare accurate and complete patient profiles.
- Monitor medication orders and ensure that no adverse drug duplication or drug-drug interaction exists; ensure that patient allergies are reviewed with respect to any medications prescribed.
- Efficiently perform other professional duties including, but not limited to, safe procurement, preparation, labeling, distribution and control of all drugs.
- Maintain inventory levels to company goals, rotate stock, comply with recalls and execute return process.
- Maintain all state and federal record keeping for legend drugs and controlled substances.
- Accurately interpret, clarify and transcribe all medication orders.
- Accurately prepare and label all drugs.
- Provide accurate, adequate and timely drug information to the professional staff, patients and patient families.
- Support the formulary development process by consulting with medical staff and promoting rational drug therapy selection.
- Follow established procedures for drug procurement, storage and distribution, including maintenance of controlled substance records as required by appropriate legislative/regulatory authorities.
- Ensure that the pharmacy computer system is properly maintained and updated with drug and compounded item information.
- Coordinate the pharmacy schedule by assisting in the direction and monitoring of pharmacy personnel.
- Focus on customer satisfaction through use of best practices and prompt communication with physicians, vendors and colleagues.
- Help to create and maintain positive customer and pharmacy-physician relationships.
- Train and manage personnel. Make decisions regarding hiring, promotions, salary adjustments, disciplinary actions and terminations.
- Perform staff pharmacist or technician duties when needed.
- Must have personnel financial management experience, with demonstrated ability to analyze financial reports and data.
- Must be self-motivated, and able to complete work with minimum supervision under tight time frames, both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to work a variety of schedules, including long hours and evenings
- Must be organized and able to prioritize workload to meet reporting deadlines.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and pharmacy-related software.
