GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Executive Director of Revenue Cycle provides overall strategic, operational oversight of revenue cycle management. This includes driving revenue growth and aligning all revenue-generating departments within an organization. This Executive Director of Revenue Cycle plays a crucial role in developing, implementing, and optimizing strategies to achieve the company's financial objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversees all revenue cycle management operations including billing, enrollment, payor credentialing, enrollment and other related activities.

Partners with various CCH departments, to collectively work towards enhancing revenue generation.

Monitors and analyzes market trends and competition to identify opportunities and threats for the business.

Establishes annual revenue targets and develops budgets and forecasts to help the company achieve its financial goals.

Serves as a resource for Leaders, clinical staff, and administration to obtain information and clarification on accurate ethical billing standards, guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Develops and monitors metrics to ensure coding and billing functions are performed efficiently as well as with a high degree of compliance.

Ensures department initiatives and outcomes are aligned with CCH’s strategic plan, mission, vision and values.

Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with CMS, health plans, other business partners and regulatory agencies.

Ensures timely completion of required reports, reviews and audits as required by all stakeholders.

Develops and utilizes key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of revenue-generating strategies and initiatives.

Establishes data-driven processes for evaluating the success of initiatives and suggests improvements when necessary.

Provides coaching, mentoring and supervision of staff; ensures high standards of performance by proactively addressing issues through coaching and disciplinary action.

Keeps abreast of current trends and updates and participates in meetings/conferences and continuing education and demonstrates a genuine desire to develop strategies for improved revenue cycle operations.

Ensures all actions, job performance, personal conduct and communications represent the organization in a highly professional manner.

Manages issues occurring during and outside of regular business hours.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree required.

Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in revenue cycle management, enrollment, billing, payment processing, required.

Minimum of five (5) years of recent leadership or progressive supervisory experience required.

Superior Knowledge of CMS, Payor credentialing and revenue cycle functions.

Considerable knowledge of medical office operations, professional fee billing, reimbursement and third-party payer regulations and medical terminology is required.

Knowledge of ICD-10 Codes, CPT Codes, HCPCS Codes, Revenue Codes, and Place of Service Codes.

Experience working in Behavioral Health, Primary Care and Dental EHR system(s) highly preferred.

Intermediate level experience working in Microsoft Excel highly preferred.

Prior experience with Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC), HRSA and public/community health agencies highly preferred.
