Business Intelligence Data Analyst

Primary Function of Position:
The Data Analyst will be a member of the RA/QA Quality Data Analytics team and use technical expertise with the understanding of business needs to turn data into useful and actionable information.
In this role, the analyst will support the RA/QA business needs for data requests, dashboard creation and maintenance and project support. Data report validation and related processes and procedures will also be supported. The ideal candidate will have the ability to explore and join sources of data and able to interface directly with databases (such as Microsoft SQL Server, Snowflake, and data visualization tools like Tableau.)
Responsibilities:
• Performing verification on large datasets to determine data quality and integrity.
• Write test plans which ensure proper test overage and perform risk-based regression testing.
• Responsible for writing test cases, test plans, test scripts and other test documents -based on business requirements.
• Help with development and validation of data analysis reports conforming with the software Verification and Validation (V&V) requirements to support RA/QA business stakeholders.
• Partners with RA/QA business stakeholders, process specialists, and users to support data needs
• Partner with business departmental teams to define and document business requirements for new metrics and reports
• Support sustaining dashboards and metrics by updating as requested and / or escalating issues as needed
• Ability to execute deep dives into available data sets to provide insight on product quality performance
• Develop user documentation and a variety of visual representation of data analysis and ensures consistency and accuracy of data and analysis provided
• Performs ongoing monitoring and refinement of reports and analytical solutions
• Partners with architecture and solution delivery teams to enable reports that have long-term value
• Provide validation review and support
• Perform functional, regression, usability test, etc. as applicable for both new and existing datasets, reports, and dashboards. Document and summarize test results and findings as required

Skill/Job Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or equivalent blend of work and certification experience required
• Minimum 2 years of data analytics experience required.
• Programming skills and experience, especially for data exploration and presentation to management and other users of data required
• Experience with Python, Microsoft SQL, Snowflake or equivalent required
• Experience working with data, querying, and analyzing data
• Highly organized with strong prioritization skills required
• Creative problem solver that is able to look at an issue from a variety of angles required
• Ability to work in teams with a great work ethic and an enthusiasm for problem solving and data analysis required
• Medical device, pharmaceutical, aerospace / defense, or other regulated industry highly preferred
• Knowledge of the business of medical device RA/QA departments preferred
• Experience and capability using visualization software such as Tableau preferred
• Exceptional ability to multi-task while maintaining tight schedules preferred
• Excellent writing skills and documentation skills that enable analyses to be reliably reproduced using the same data years later preferred
