The Regional Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing the operational performance of multiple healthcare, long-term care, or assisted living facilities within a designated region. This role ensures that each facility operates efficiently and meets corporate standards for quality care, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and customer satisfaction. The Regional Director works closely with facility administrators and leadership teams to implement strategic initiatives, optimize resources, and improve resident care outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple facilities within the region, ensuring compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
Conduct regular facility visits to monitor operational performance, assess resident satisfaction, and ensure high-quality care is provided.
Provide leadership and guidance to facility administrators, helping them achieve operational goals and overcome challenges.
Leadership and Team Development:
Mentor and develop leadership teams at each facility, providing coaching and support to ensure effective management practices.
Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, employee engagement, and professional development.
Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of key facility leadership, including administrators and department heads.
Quality and Compliance:
Ensure all facilities in the region comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including healthcare, safety, and labor laws.
Monitor regulatory compliance activities, including state surveys and audits, ensuring corrective actions are implemented as needed.
Oversee the development and implementation of quality improvement programs, including initiatives aimed at improving resident outcomes and enhancing the resident experience.
Financial Performance:
Monitor the financial performance of each facility, ensuring they operate within budget and meet financial targets.
Work closely with facility administrators to develop budgets, control expenses, and optimize resources to improve operational efficiency.
Analyze financial reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Resident Care and Satisfaction:
Ensure all facilities provide high-quality care and services that meet or exceed resident and family expectations.
Monitor resident satisfaction surveys and feedback, implementing action plans to address concerns and improve overall satisfaction.
Promote resident-centered care practices and ensure facilities maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents and their families.
Strategic Planning and Implementation:
Develop and execute regional operational strategies that align with corporate goals and support the long-term growth and success of each facility.
Lead the implementation of corporate initiatives and operational improvements within the region.
Identify opportunities to expand services, enhance care delivery, and improve operational efficiency across the region.
Collaboration and Communication:
Serve as the primary liaison between the corporate office and facility leadership, ensuring effective communication and alignment with corporate objectives.
Collaborate with other regional directors, corporate leadership, and department heads to share best practices and drive operational excellence.
Represent the organization at community events, industry conferences, and meetings with key stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field required. A Master's degree or MBA is preferred. Active Nursing Home Administrator license.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in healthcare operations, with at least 3 years in a multi-site or regional management role. Experience in long-term care, assisted living, or healthcare settings is highly preferred.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop leaders.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices.
