is looking for a

Program Director

to assist in leading a couple of Life is Precious Program locations. Reporting to the Senior Assistant Vice President (SAVP), the program director is a vital member of the LIP team and assists in the programs daily operations including conducting intakes, supervising case managers and program coordinators and working directly with the teens and their parents, when needed. The Program Director represents LIP in the community and nurtures and grows community connections and facilitates workshops and training to local schools, parents, and community organizations, and assists with the start up of the new Long Island center.

Essential Duties:

Assist with the ongoing development and growth of the Life Is Precious (LIP) program with the goal of increasing the number of Latina teens participating

Assist in supervision of program activities across multiple locations and provide program coverage as needed

Supervise case managers and Program Coordinators and collaborate with administrative staff

Conduct intakes and assessments for all new LIP participants across 3 program sites

Supervise documentation of case managers progress notes in AWARDS

Contribute towards the development of strategies, tools, and tactics to improve the quality and offering of services. Provide outreach and promote LIP to schools and school administrators, community stakeholders, etc. and promote mental health awareness and stigma reduction and provide suicide prevention workshops while building the reach and reputation of the program.

Adhere to the policies, principles, and procedures that comply with internal as well as funder (such as DOHMH and DYCD) regulatory requirements, guidelines, and directives

Education and Experience Requirement(s)

Masters Degree in social work, psychology or related field.

Four years of experience in behavioral health with adolescents and families, and suicide prevention preferred

Fluency in Spanish required

Strong skills in developing and managing people, and programs and in facilitating workshops

Experience working with youth and families
