We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Data Analyst with extensive expertise in Power BI and big data. The ideal candidate will have the technical ability to handle and analyze large datasets produced globally by IoT devices and the enthusiasm to promote the use of Power BI across various disciplines within the organization. This role's primary focus will be to work with a variety of stakeholders, including back-office teams, company leadership, and customers for reporting and data visualizations. Key Responsibilities Data Analysis and Interpretation: Analyze large datasets generated by global IoT platforms. Develop and maintain detailed reports and dashboards using Power BI to provide actionable insights. Perform data mining, cleansing, and exploratory data analysis. Work with Data Engineers to validate the quality and accuracy of data. Data Visualization: Create compelling and user-friendly Power BI dashboards and reports. Ensure visualizations effectively communicate the insights derived from the data to stakeholders across different disciplines. Power BI Evangelism: Serve as the organizational advocate for Power BI, demonstrating its capabilities and benefits. Conduct training sessions and workshops for team members to enhance Power BI usage and proficiency. Develop and distribute resources such as tutorials and documentation to support Power BI adoption. Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide tailored analytical support. Collaborate with mechanical engineers, biologists, and data engineers to support data-related projects. Communicate complex data findings and insights to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and engaging manner. Data Management: Manage and process large-scale datasets using big data modeling concepts such as star schema. Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous validation and cleaning processes; work with Data Engineers to ensure data pipelines are producing and curating data correctly. Monitor costs and performance to ensure that reports are performant and remain within budgeting boundaries. Implement data governance standards to protect and guard sensitive data streams. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in data analytics, IoT, and big data technologies (predominantly using Microsoft technologies such as Power BI, Data Factory, SQL Server, and Fabric/Synapse). Recommend and implement enhancements to current data analysis and visualization processes. Requirements Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role. Proven expertise in using Power BI for data visualization and reporting. Experience working with big data technologies and frameworks, particularly in IoT environments. Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and custom visuals. Strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation. Knowledge of big data modeling concepts such as star schema. Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R is a plus. Familiarity with IoT platforms and data integration from various IoT devices. Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to handle large datasets and perform complex analyses. Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical audiences. Strong advocacy and teaching skills to promote Power BI within the organization. Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including back-office teams, company leadership, customers, engineers, biologists, and data engineers. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
