Description
Our client is seeking an associate to join their highly-ranked Federal Energy Regulatory practice based in Washington D.C. The successful candidate will be part of a Regulatory & Compliance team that handles all aspects of regulation and regulatory compliance, including regulatory approvals, permitting, enforcement defense, rulemaking, legislation, project development, crisis management, and agency liaison at federal, state, and local levels. The practice group focuses on regulatory agencies, regulatory policy, and regulated industries, primarily in the areas of energy and environmental law. This includes work on natural gas and electric power, renewables, utility rates and regulation, transmission, electric market design, and Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs), among others. The team also assists clients with compliance in day-to-day energy-sector operations as well as enforcement audits and investigations. The ideal candidate will have experience in energy regulatory aspects of transactions for the financing, development, acquisition, and disposition of energy/utility assets.
