We’re looking for a Data Quality Analyst (aka The Data Integrity Champion) to monitor, validate, and improve data across the organization, ensuring that our data assets are trustworthy and ready for strategic use.
As a Data Quality Analyst at our client, you’ll work with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to develop and maintain data quality standards. Your role will be critical in ensuring that data used for reporting, analytics, and decision-making is accurate, complete, and timely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and Maintain Data Quality Standards:
- Define data quality metrics, standards, and KPIs to assess data health. You’ll implement frameworks to monitor and maintain data accuracy, consistency, completeness, and reliability.
- Develop processes to validate and cleanse data from various sources, identifying and correcting errors or inconsistencies. You’ll work with data engineering teams to automate data validation and improve data integrity.
- Investigate and resolve data quality issues by performing root cause analysis. You’ll recommend solutions to prevent data errors and work with teams to implement preventive measures.
- Partner with data governance and compliance teams to establish data policies and standards. You’ll ensure that data quality processes align with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
- Create reports that assess data quality across datasets, highlighting trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement. You’ll provide actionable insights to stakeholders to enhance data quality.
- Educate teams on data quality best practices and promote a culture of data stewardship. You’ll develop training materials and conduct workshops to empower data users.
- Use and optimize data quality tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, Trifacta) to streamline data quality checks and validations. You’ll keep up-to-date with new tools and techniques to improve data quality processes.
Required Skills:
- Data Quality Expertise: Strong knowledge of data quality principles, methodologies, and metrics. You can define and track KPIs for data health and integrity.
- Analytical Skills and Root Cause Analysis: Proficiency in conducting root cause analysis and implementing solutions to resolve data issues. You have a proactive approach to identifying and correcting data discrepancies.
- Data Profiling and Validation: Experience with data profiling, validation, and cleansing techniques to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL for querying and analyzing data, along with familiarity with data quality tools like Informatica, Talend, or Trifacta.
- Communication and Collaboration: Ability to communicate complex data quality issues in a clear and actionable manner. You can work effectively with cross-functional teams to implement quality improvements.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent experience in data quality management or data analysis may be considered.
- Certifications in data quality or data management (e.g., Certified Information Management Professional, Informatica Data Quality) are advantageous.
Experience Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in data quality analysis, with a proven track record of improving data quality across various systems.
- Experience with data governance frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Familiarity with data warehousing and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
