Data Governance Analyst
Job Summary:
  • As a Data Governance Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the governance and audit process for how our data, related data tooling, and insights are used by stakeholders across the company. You’ll also support the process of collecting, validate, store and present the metadata that drives stakeholder knowledge about our data, work product and business.
  • The ideal candidate will have a background in data-driven companies utilizing cloud technologies, experience with data governance, data analytics or data engineering, as well as a detail-oriented mindset.
What you’ll do:
  • Support the implementation and enforcement of data governance and audit process for our data standards, access and privacy policies. Work with data stakeholders as needed to resolve gaps.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of metadata management and the data catalog to ensure a single source of truth.
  • Support work product knowledge and business knowledge cataloging efforts for tooling such as dashboards, reports, models, metrics and data integrations
  • Collaborate on tools and process to monitor the effectiveness of data governance programs, compliance, and improve overall data management practices
  • Support and educate data stakeholders on the Data Governance team’s data literacy, knowledge and tooling efforts
  • Collaborate closely with related Data Quality and Data Governance Solutions teams who help ensure our data is trustworthy and compliant
What you’ll need:
  • BA/BS Degree. Technical degree preferred.
  • 3+ years experience in a data-driven industry, with experience in media and entertainment and/or subscription services a plus
  • 3+ years of demonstrated cross-functional coordination with IT and business stakeholders for complex data and/or software development lifecycle processes
  • Intermediate to strong SQL skills are required
  • Experience with data technologies, database systems, data integrations and/or data warehousing is required
  • Experience with Data Catalog tooling, Data Quality software and/or Data Visualization software is preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate data issues and governance concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach to addressing challenges
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with Databricks and/or Salesforce products is a plus
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS, GCP or Azure is a plus
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, build and deployment technologies such as Git, Github Actions, Jenkins is a plus
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Typescript, Python, Scala, or Java is a plus
  • Familiarity with streaming technologies: e.g., Kafka, Kafka Connect, Kinesis, Beam, Flink, Spark is a plus
  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Compensation:
  • $30-35/hr. (W2/Non-Exempt)
