This is a senior research support position with primary responsibilities in the Department of Health Management and Policy. The Data Analyst III will conduct health economics, health services research, and health policy research in HMP. This individual will primarily conduct advanced data collection, coding, and analysis in collaboration with research-active faculty in HMP. This position will also coordinate health care research projects, prepare internal review board (IRB) protocols for primary data collection, assist in the design of evaluation tools/instruments and prepare reports, manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals, and conference presentations. We also expect this individual to be a “self-starter”, work independently when necessary, develop/write/publish rigorous research projects, and multi-task with several faculty who are leading disparate research studies. Job Responsibilities: Develop and implement research activities including frequent communication and status updates with research teams, both in person and virtually. Coordinate the collection, compilation, documentation, and analysis of health services/health economics/health policy research data from various sites. Assist in the determination of guidelines for the collection of data and or administration of health services/health economics/health policy research studies. Create IRB protocols, submit for review/approval, and maintain correspondence with sponsoring agency, IRB, and collaborative institutions. Under direction of faculty, develop and implement recruitment of study participants. Monitor and evaluate the success of varying recruitment techniques. Participate in protocol development as it relates to health services/health economics/health policy research data collection. Assess, analyze, prepare, and coordinate standardized study protocols with study investigators. Work closely with study personnel to coordinate and conduct research project meetings (locally and nationally). Coordinate, conduct, and assist with health services/health economics/health policy research trainings including invited lectures and national/international conference presentations. Prepare research presentations and posters for conferences or seminars. Prepare conference abstracts and manuscripts for peer-review. Conduct expert literature reviews with little direction. Conduct advanced data analysis tasks with little direction. Perform other duties as assigned. Education: Master’s degree or higher in statistics, quantitative methods, health services research, health economics, health policy, or related discipline is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Experience with conducting and carrying out research protocols and research coordination. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and STATA, R, SAS, Phyton or other statistical software program. Familiarity with IRB interaction, regulatory policies, database input, and report generation. Research experience in a dynamic and active academic department with exposure to a team of research scientists at all levels (senior investigators, faculty, research coordinators, administrators) Previous experience working on health and health care projects is preferred. A relevant combination of education and experience may be considered.
