That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.About the teamThe Finance Engineering (FinEng) team is at the core of Stripe to empower mission-critical financial domains including Finance & Strategy, Accounting, User Billing, Finance operations, Treasury, and Tax. We are the Financial Enablement team under FinEng, acting as the centralized data analytics team for Finance Systems (FinSys) Org, enabling and empowering Business Accounting, F&S, and Tax teams to achieve business goals, through data analytics support, dashboards, tooling automation and operational efficiency enhancements.What you'll doResponsibilitiesThis role is mainly designed to provide data analytics support for the F&S (Finance & Strategy) team, Accounting team, Tax team and internal FinSys Engineering team.Your responsibilities include:Perform data analysis, identify trends, conduct research, build visualizations, all to deliver objective, critical insights that fulfill team stakeholders' (GTM, Accounting, Finance, Tax) business needsProvide data analysis support to Accounting and Finance & Strategy team for month end close process (i.e. data validation, incident investigation)Coordinate cross-functional projects to identify and drive operational efficiencies that support our stakeholders ability to run a more efficiently and effectivelyPerform data analysis to support financial audits in a timely and accurately mannerWork closely with FinSys engineering team to help define product solutionsConduct internal knowledge sharing sessions to strengthen teamWho you areYou're passionate about solving complex business problems and making a direct impact on stakeholders. You are comfortable with dealing with many moving pieces, learning new technologies and systems, and you are excited about managing projects across multiple functions. This role gives you opportunities to work with data analysts, engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders. We're looking for someone who is self driven, has strong data analytics skills and great communication skills with good domain knowledge in Finance/Accounting.Minimum requirementsBachelor's degree in STEM OR Business major (i.e. Computer Science, Math, Stat, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Economics, MIS, etc.)5+ years of prior working experience in data analysis fieldsStrong analytical ability, proficiency with SQL (minimum of 3 years advanced SQL) and strong understanding of data relationshipsExperience working with extremely large datasetsOutstanding communication skillsExpertise working cross-functionally to drive business and operational goalsAbility to connect the big picture to minute detailsOperating as part of a team adhering to established norms and valuesDomain knowledge in Finance/AccountingPreferred qualificationsMaster's degree in STEM majorBachelor's/Master's degree in Accounting, or a CPA/CFA holderExperience working in fast-paced environments (e.g. high-growth fintech/tech company, management consulting)Experience working with PM, Engineers, Finance Team or Accounting TeamExperience with visualization toolsExcellent project management skills and ability to hold others accountable for results
