The Inventory Supervisor & Data Analyst will play a dual role, combining leadership in inventory management with data analysis to optimize warehouse operations. This individual will be responsible for overseeing inventory accuracy, conducting data-driven insights, and enhancing operational efficiency. By using warehouse management systems (WMS) and advanced data analytics, the role will ensure accurate inventory control and support strategic decision-making through detailed data analysis and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management & Supervision:
- Oversee daily inventory control operations, ensuring inventory accuracy and adherence to warehouse management system (WMS) protocols.
- Manage inventory replenishment based on production schedules, sales forecasts, and customer demand, ensuring timely stock availability.
- Develop, implement, and manage cycle counting programs, performing physical inventory checks, reconciliations, and maintaining accuracy.
- Maintain and update the inventory database to reflect accurate stock levels and ensure proper documentation of all inventory transactions.
- Responsible for cycle counting program including personnel, tracking, reporting, and conducting physical inventories as needed.
- Communicate and collaborate with Finance team to ensure adherence to company cycle counting and inventory adjustment policies.
- Collaborate with warehouse, shipping, and operations teams to optimize space utilization, product flow, and resource allocation.
- Identify and implement inventory control process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies related to inventory adjustments and reporting.
- Data Analytics & Reporting:
- Gather, analyze, and interpret data from WMS, databases, and other sources to uncover patterns, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Design and automate reporting processes to provide real-time visibility into key warehouse and inventory metrics such as stock levels, turnover rates, and accuracy.
- Perform in-depth statistical analysis to identify inefficiencies and develop actionable insights for inventory management and warehouse operations.
- Build and maintain dashboards to visualize warehouse performance metrics, providing data-driven recommendations to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Develop predictive models to forecast inventory needs and ensure alignment with production and demand planning.
- Use data to optimize order picking, replenishment strategies, and overall workflow within the warehouse.
- Warehouse Process Optimization:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline inventory processes and enhance warehouse efficiency using data insights.
- Utilize advanced analytics tools such as SQL, Python, R, or similar software to automate data collection and reporting.
- Continuously monitor warehouse KPIs and recommend process changes to improve performance in areas such as space utilization, order accuracy, and stock rotation.
- Conduct root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions to prevent future issues.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with warehouse and shipping supervisors to ensure coordination of inventory activities and alignment with operational goals.
- Partner with management teams to define key data requirements for analysis projects that support business objectives.
- Present findings and recommendations based on data analysis to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, driving actionable insights for continuous improvement
- Required Qualifications
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Demonstrates excellent critical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving skills to include identification, analysis, and resolution.
- 2+ years of data analytics experience
- Knowledge of inventory control principles and practices
- Proficient in inventory management software, Excel, Word and Outlook
- Proficient in advanced analytics tools such as SQL, Python, and R
- Ability to motivate team efforts to accomplish goals.
- Ability to work as an individual contributor as well as in a team environment.
- Knowledge of warehousing and distribution concepts.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Directly responsible for employees
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Data Analytics, Operations, Management or related field; or equivalent experience
- Supervisory experience
- Willing to work additional hours, including occasional Saturdays
Language Skills:
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers; regulatory agencies or members of the business community
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, groups and customers
Reasoning Ability:
- Must be able to problem solve daily operational and/or long term planning issues.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
