Job Description
Title: Commercial Trading & Compliance Analyst
Client: Energy Company Gas & Power
Location: Houston, Texas (Energy Corridor)
Type: Contract (6-months ongoing)
Pay: $50-55/hour DOE
Summary:
Our Energy client is searching for an experienced Business Analyst with experience within the Commercial Trading industry. Please note candidate must legally be authorized to work in the U.S., U.S. Citizen, U.S. Resident or green card holder. Candidate must be in the Houston Metro area and can work onsite at the corporate office located in the Houston area Energy corridor. Candidate will collaborate and engage with a team of high performers. Therefore, candidate must be a self-starter who can work independently demonstrating personal drive and taking own initiative yet can collaborate and work effectively in a global team.
Duties:
- Build, customize and create PowerBI tailored reports and PowerBI dashboards.
- Prepare Excel product market presentations in PowerPoint & Excel reports for gas ISO/RTO power products (including FTRs and Virtual trades).
- Facilitate commercial competence overviews of traded products, markets, and strategies, both physical and paper-based trading.
- Implement best practice summary reports of CFTC, FERC, and ISO rules for power, gas, and renewables markets.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience supporting a Commercial Trading function, with exposure to front and mid-office trading activities.
- Microsoft PowerBI - Working knowledge of PowerBI for creating tailored reports and dashboards.
- Versed in “Trade Surveillance” tools - Experienced in using the Nasdaq Trade Surveillance (‘NTS’) tool or similar monitoring system.
- Familiar with commodity trading systems and Risk Management (‘ETRM’) systems such Allegro, Right Angle, Aligne and SAP4.
- Knowledge of the U.S. commodities regulatory environment and applicable laws including Dodd-Frank, the Commodity Exchange Act and knowledge of Designated Contract Market rules
- Proficient working with regulations, exchange rules, relevant laws, and typical internal policies related to North American physical and financial gas and power trading.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree Business, IT, Computer Science, or related field.
