Data Engineer
This document serves as an overview with the details for the request for temporary support for a Data Engineer opening on a GSA initiative at Login.gov..
Day to day:
● Attend team ceremonies
● Collaborate closely with Product Owner, Product Manager and Project Manager to establish priorities
● Provide technical guidance/direction to team
Job Responsibilities
● 5-10 year of experience working with data set lifecycles, aggregating and refining raw data, as well as ensuring proper data governance and security
● Knowledge of and experience in implementing data technologies to process and analyze datasets
● Strong understanding of analytics software
● Understanding of database management and data warehousing solutions, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) Redshift
● Cloudwatch expertise
● Expertise in developing SQL queries with fluency in Python or Ruby
● Basic understanding of machine learning and its application to AI
● Experience with Agile Software Development methodologies and tools, such as Gitlab or Jira
● Experience developing and maintaining scalable data pipelines and developing new API integrations to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity
● Skill in implementing processes and systems to monitor data quality
● Experience in documenting technical documentation for associated processes, procedures, and policies
● Experience in troubleshooting data related issues and assisting in the resolution of data issues
● Skill in defining and populating data models
● Experience in designing data integrations and data quality framework, and evaluating open source and vendor tools for data lineage
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $110,000 – 130,000 (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
