POSITION DESCRIPTION
A YMCA Executive Director's goal is to have a lasting and positive impact on the lives of the people and the communities they serve. As the
Executive Director
of the West Valley Family YMCA, you will have a special chance to create a lasting legacy while taking your career to new heights!
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION : Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, or business
RELATED EXPERIENCE : Six or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency; Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community members.
SPECIALIZED SKILLS : Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program management.
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS : YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader certification
This position requires the final candidate to successfully pass an E-Verify check.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
You must have the physical, visual, and auditory ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Align the work of staff and volunteers to the branch and Association's strategic plan.
Direct the financial development activities (65% of role) of the branch and achieve fundraising goals.
Establish and implement an annual operating plan, including goals, timelines, and expected results.
Effectively operate the facility and all program activities, ensuring smooth operations.
Address specific problem areas and organize task forces as necessary.
Represent and promote the YMCA in the community and develop positive relationships with organizations and businesses.
Develop and support a year-round fundraising program including the annual support campaign and donor acquisition.
Engage in a structured major donor cultivation strategy to secure major gifts annually.
Develop a long-range capital development plan for facility maintenance.
Build the branch endowment by increasing irrevocable gift commitments.
Oversee hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of staff.
Manage and monitor the branch operating budget to meet or exceed targets.
Direct branch strategic planning efforts and develop the annual operating plan.
Provide adequate cash balances and net assets for reserves and fixed assets.
Develop high-quality member engagement strategies and model relationship-building skills.
Serve as staff officer to the branch Board of Managers.
Lead a Board development effort to help achieve strategic goals.
Ensure appropriate staff leadership for each committee aligned with the strategic plan.
Facilitate ongoing evaluation of Board effectiveness and performance.
Foster innovation in developing member-focused programs supporting the Y mission.
Ensure safety and maintenance of facilities, grounds, and equipment.
Direct branch marketing and communication efforts.
Support overall objectives of the YMCA as a management team member.
Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
Uphold YMCA policies for safety, supervision, and risk management.
Demonstrate the Six Pillars of Character and YMCA Core Values in all dealings.
Demonstrate competencies in Cause Driven Leadership areas.
Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
