Summary

Provides direction for manufacturing and supporting service operations. Ensures efficient operations and cost-effective manufacturing. Responsible for the strategic planning and operations; establishes, plans, and administers the overall direction and goals for the business. Analyzes the needs of departments and establishes priorities. Directly manages relationships with existing customers and creates business opportunities with future customers in both existing and new markets.

Essential Functions

Develops a successful vision/strategy through strong leadership skills.

Develops annual business plans that include financial objectives, business objectives, continuous improvement in safety, cost, and employee morale.

Reviews activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives, and revises objectives and plans in accordance with changing conditions. Accountable for financial performance and growth.

Leads and participates in project management, including preparing presentations on results and projects, and influencing the perception of the outcomes.

Follows and maintains current standard operating procedures as established by the company.

Develops and approves recommendations to change systems, policies and procedures; ensure timely and accurate implementation.

Participates in department and interdepartmental planning and management teams and works cross-functionally to improve processes within the organization.

Creates appropriate metrics to track performance and manages performance to attain goals.

Makes recommendations to executive leadership on long range labor and equipment needs.

Oversees and handles projects that have short to long term focus.

Balances planning efforts with day to day demands.

Ensures comprehensive communication plan is in place to ensure all key stakeholders are informed and engaged in achieving business priorities.

Develops, maintains, and assures adherence to operating budget and capital spending plan. Prepares weekly production budgeting/variance reporting with root cause analysis.

Identifies and obtains staff capabilities needed to accomplish objectives.

Directs the development and implementation of standards and goals, ensuring they support the organization’s business plans.

Facilitates corrective action follow-ups.

Facilitates and follows-up on strategic objectives to successful completion in appropriate process areas.

Ensures quality and production systems implementation through process work teams.

Supports Lean Enterprise and Kaizen teams.

Observes recycling guidelines and limit waste of materials and supplies.

Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Develops, coaches and mentors peers, indirect and subordinate staff.

If accountable for the work of others, conducts performance evaluations; reviews and communicates salary adjustments; rewards employees or takes disciplinary action, as necessary; addresses complaints and resolves issues.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree plus 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; or High-school Diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 14 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Supervisory or managerial experience.

Demonstrated experience in establishing, and operating within, cross-functional teams as well as the ability to significantly integrate within corporate and customer organizations.

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Required to lift and move up to 25 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Operations Management or Engineering plus 12 years of experience in a manufacturing environment reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

MBA or Advanced Degree in Operations Management.

Highly developed leadership, customer relations, technology and innovation skills.

Experience working with all levels and functions within the Company – politically savvy.

Experience with the use of business software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook).

Experience with Production Management System (Radius).

Excellent teamwork skills.

Skilled in communicating a compelling vision of the future.

Compensation

Hiring Salary Range: $173,600 - $217,000

Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
