JOB SUMMARY:
You will report directly to the CEO and play a critical role in advancing the agency’s mission by leading strategic efforts to secure and sustain financial resources. In collaboration with the CEO, you will develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to support the agency’s overall growth. You will oversee all aspects of fundraising,
including donor acquisition, cultivation & stewardship, implementing a planned giving strategy, building an alumni strategy, grant support & collaboration, brokering key partnerships, and executing special events.
To be successful in this role, you will lead and motivate a team who can communicate the organization’s impact, build strong relationships with donors and stakeholders, and identify opportunities for donor engagement and revenue generation. You will demonstrate a proven track record in fundraising, strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for the organization’s mission.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Developing Fundraising Strategy and Vision:
Create, implement, and communicate comprehensive fundraising strategies that guide the agency towards achieving current fundraising goals and long-term, sustainable growth.
Leadership:
Inspire and motivate the Development team to perform at their best through guidance, mentorship, professional development, and fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Establish a Development infrastructure that is able to support fundraising goals. Stay informed about current trends and best practices in fundraising and philanthropy through ongoing professional development and networking opportunities.
Goal Setting and Accountability:
Set ambitious yet achievable fundraising goals for the team and hold individuals accountable for their performance. Establish key performance indicators and regularly track progress towards goals, providing feedback and support to ensure team members are meeting objectives.
Collaboration and Communication:
Consistent collaboration with other departments and teams within the agency to leverage resources, share insights, and achieve common goals. Communicate regularly with CEO, Senior Leadership, Colleagues, and Board of Directors to provide updates on fundraising and development initiatives, solicit input and align efforts throughout the organization.
Donor Stewardship:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with donors, providing personalized acknowledgment, recognition, and stewardship to cultivate ongoing support and loyalty.
Major Gift Solicitation:
Cultivate relationships with major donors, individuals, foundations, and corporations to secure significant financial contributions.
Special Events:
Organize and manage major fundraising events, such as annual gala, golf tournaments, and donor cultivation events, to engage donors, raise awareness, and generate revenue.
Strategic Partnerships:
Identify and cultivate diverse partnerships, including corporations and community alliances, to drive revenue and volunteer recruitment. Negotiate agreements, secure financial support/sponsorships for programs, events, and initiatives.
Grant Support and Collaboration:
Identify grant opportunities and collaborate with VP of Impact & Research to create compelling grant proposals to secure funding from foundations, government agencies, and other grant-making entities.
Annual Fundraising Campaigns:
Plan, execute, and collaborate with CEO and VP of Marketing on annual fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, email appeals, online giving, and special events, to solicit donations from individual donors and supporters.
Planned Giving Programs:
Develop and promote planned giving programs, such as bequests, charitable trusts, and gift annuities, to secure long-term financial commitments from donors.
Alumni:
Build and leverage current and past participants to build a robust alumni strategy to assist in fundraising and recruitment efforts.
Board and Volunteer Engagement:
Work closely with the board of directors, fundraising committees, and volunteers to engage them in fundraising efforts, leverage their networks, and secure their financial support.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare regular reports and analysis on fundraising activities, revenue projections, and donor trends to monitor progress, evaluate performance, and inform strategic decision-making.
Database Management:
Oversee the maintenance of donor databases and fundraising software systems to track donor interactions, manage donor relationships, and analyze fundraising performance.
Ethical and Legal Compliance:
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing fundraising activities, including donor privacy, gift acceptance policies, and financial transparency.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, development, management, and/or related roles, with a proven track record of success in securing major gifts and grants.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve fundraising goals.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with donors and stakeholders.
Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute innovative fundraising strategies.
Highly organized with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Proficiency in Google Suite, MS Office, Excel.
Knowledge of fundraising software, donor databases, Salesforce, and other tools used to support development activities.

Routine office environment.
