We are in the process of recruiting a Cyber Security Engineer to become a part of our team. The position is based in Asheville, North Carolina. As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will be instrumental in enhancing our security stance through the implementation, management, and optimization of security solutions. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities
• Implement and manage security solutions to protect our network infrastructure and sensitive data.
• Review and optimize server network segmentation by conducting detailed audits of FortiGate firewall policy rules.
• Enhance server-level security by managing and enforcing Windows firewall policies.
• Bolster proactive intrusion detection measures by configuring and maintaining canaries, tripwires, and honeypots.
• Identify vulnerabilities and recommend actionable remediation strategies through conducting internal penetration tests.
• Oversee endpoint detection rules, with the ability to manage tools such as CrowdStrike or other solutions under evaluation.
• Align security practices with organizational goals by working closely with IT and security teams.
• Provide detailed reports on security incidents, assessments, and overall network health.• Proficiency in operating and managing FortiGate security appliances.
• Extensive experience in configuring and maintaining firewall systems.
• Demonstrable skills in conducting penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities.
• Proficiency in endpoint protection solutions to safeguard network access.
• Familiarity with Tripwire for system integrity monitoring.
• Knowledge of intrusion detection and prevention mechanisms to thwart cyber threats.
• Experience in system hardening to minimize potential security risks.
• Proficiency in using CrowdStrike for threat intelligence and response.
