Security Architect

Our client is looking to hire an Information Security Architect to join their cybersecurity team.


This role requires a professional with cybersecurity experience to support cloud security (AWS & Azure), secure cloud integrations, and security best practices efforts. The individual will collaborate closely with DevOps and Application Development teams to guide and influence security processes.


This is a hybrid role in San Francisco, California (2-3 days/week) No Visa Sponsorship or Transfers Available. No C2C*


Responsibilities

40% Cloud Security Engineering

  • Lead cloud security initiatives for public, private, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Design and implement cloud security solutions, including IAM and cloud deployment automation (IaC tools).
  • Define and maintain security roadmaps, controls, policies, procedures, and training.
  • Conduct vulnerability analysis, risk assessments, and evaluate new security products.
  • Maintain architectural diagrams and a knowledge base of IOC products.
  • Stay current with security frameworks and best practices.

30% Architecture and Design

  • Oversee security architecture, establishing roadmaps, and enhancing security policies.
  • Design secure infrastructure, application security, and data access controls.
  • Implement cloud security architectures (e.g., VPC/VNet, SD-LANs), container security, and API security.
  • Support DevSecOps, vulnerability management, and key management practices.
  • Perform threat modeling, consult on projects to close security gaps, and integrate security strategies.

30% DevSecOps

  • Lead DevSecOps initiatives, integrating security into the development lifecycle.
  • Oversee SecOps tasks, collaborating with development teams to embed security into software processes.

Requirements:

  1. 5+ years of experience as a Security Architect.
  2. Proven experience in a multi-cloud environment, including AWS or Azure.
  3. Experience with secure cloud integrations using platforms such as GitLab, GitHub, or similar.
  4. Experience with threat modeling.
  5. Proficiency in leading DevSecOps initiatives and strong collaboration with external teams.
  6. U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.
