POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a security officer to provide for the safety and security of guests, colleagues, and hotel property in an effective, professional and guest-friendly manner commensurate with the demands of The Pierre Hotel.
JOB FUNCTION, TASKS, and RESPONSIBILITIES:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Patrol all areas of the hotel inside and outside to observe, handle and report any unusual circumstances, safety violations, theft, property destruction, suspicious and undesirable persons to prevent intrusion and other unnecessary circumstances
- Document all security reports daily and log other pertinent information including but not limited to incidents of theft, injury/illness and safety violations
- Complete the necessary forms to document such occurrences
- Maintain familiarity with hotel disaster and emergency policies, procedures and regulations
- Conduct investigations of security and safety breaches and other incidents
- Control the integrity of the hotel key system by issuing, safeguarding and replacing master keys of authorized persons and departments
- Handle special requests of guests, patrons and other visitors in the hotel
- Must be able to execute the Deputy Fire Safety Director's duties verbatim as per New York Fire Department's regulations
QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma and minimum of 3 Years of Hotel Security
- NY State Security Guard License required
- Must possess a Fire Safety Certification or able to obtain one
- Must be First aid and CPR certified or able to be certified
- Strong skills in oral and written communication
- Ability to communicate with colleagues and guest in a professional and courteous manner
- Ability to communicate with colleagues and guest in a professional and courteous manner
- Skills in operating equipment such as personal computer, software, and other Security systems
- Ability to organize and prioritize assigned projects
- Ability to recognize drug, alcohol and other suspicious behavior
- Ability to pay attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of reports
- Ability to work flexible schedule to include overnights, weekends and holidays
