Position Details:

About the Job:
The security officer is responsible for patrolling all medical center properties to prevent fire, theft, illegal entry, crimes against persons, patient elopement, intoxicated persons, disputes, and other possible hostile situations. He/she must take the initiative to restore order, make initial investigations, and complete a written report of the incident. Must be able to detect violations of established guidelines and procedures, and elicit cooperation of others to correct the same. Record all rounds and requests on a daily log. Respond to all emergency calls such as fire, bomb threats, combative situations, etc.

  • Protects life and property of hospital patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Patrols hospital buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, and vandalism.
  • Secures unlocks, and protects hospital buildings.
  • Responds to the security needs of hospital patients, visitors, and staff.


Requirements:

  • High school graduate or GED required. Diploma or transcripts are required upon hire.
  • Prior security-related experience (preferred)
  • Valid drivers license
  • Must have or qualify for an Unarmed Security License in the state of Tennessee.
  • SAMA certification and Basic Life Support certification within 90 days of hire.
