THE ROLE:
The Security Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive risk assessment services for players, support staff, and all facilities, both at home and away. Responsibilities include developing safety protocols and advance plans, responding to situations to mitigate risk, reporting incidents, and managing additional security staff.

THE ROLE:
The Security Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive risk assessment services for players, support staff, and all facilities, both at home and away. Responsibilities include developing safety protocols and advance plans, responding to situations to mitigate risk, reporting incidents, and managing additional security staff.
WHAT YOU'll BE UP TO:
- Develop comprehensive protective advance plans and conduct threat vulnerability assessments for training sessions, match days, and travel.
- Provide unarmed executive protection for players, coaching staff, and support personnel during training sessions, matches, and community events.
- Escort the team in various environments, including airports and transfers between locations.
- Coordinate with local law enforcement and stadium security at home and away venues to ensure local knowledge of ingress and egress, and promptly communicate any vulnerabilities or safety concerns.
- Respond to incidents and emergencies with a de-escalation approach, assisting medical personnel as needed.
- Report, respond to, and document all incidents and suspicious activities to appropriate personnel at both the NWSL, Club, and local law enforcement levels.
- Secure and manage additional security officers and staff.
- Oversee the budget for the Security team.
- Operate and ensure proper function of protective and communications equipment.
- Conduct searches of property and individuals as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 5+ years of experience in a safety or security-related field.
- Experience providing security in an arena, stadium, or similar venue with a capacity of 15,000+, with a preference for those who have directly managed staff.
- Experience implementing safety plans, policies, and procedures.
- Skilled in leading, motivating, and developing employees.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to manage various tasks simultaneously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address issues and implement effective solutions.
- High attention to detail to ensure accurate management of logistics.
- Adaptable with the ability to work under pressure.
- This is an in-person position working from Providence Park and additional training locations.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- This role will be required to travel with the First Team to away matches.
- Must reside within Oregon state upon date of hire.
- Must be able to facilitate own local travel.
- Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
- Responsibilities include regular work outdoors and may require standing on feet for long periods of time, as well as some lifting of up to 20 pounds.
